Ahead of tonight’s semifinal performances, The Voice posted some iconic shots of the four coaches and their contestants. But two teams, in particular, stood out among the crowd – Team Kelly and Team Blake.

Throughout the season, The Voice fans have loyally rooted for their favorite vocalists, and it seems that the most popular contestants are on Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson’s teams. On Team Blake, there’s Paris Winningham, Lana Scott and Wendy Moten. Meanwhile, on Team Kelly, there’s the trio, Girl Named Tom and Hailey Mia. All six of these soloists and groups have earned roaring applause and standing ovations.

“Introducing the #VoiceTop8,” the show announced. “So excited to see what they have in store for us in 3 HOURS.”

Of course, we should also note that Shelton now has the largest team on The Voice, and given the strength of the contestants, he’s going to be a tough coach to beat. But that doesn’t mean you should count out Ariana Grande or John Legend. Grande’s remaining contestants, the duo of Jim & Sasha Allen, have a devoted fanbase of their own rooting for the father and son. And on Team Legend, Jershika Maple and Joshua Vicanti continuously deliver solid performances with top-notch song choices.

Take a look at some of the Top 8’s best critiques below.

What Types of Songs Will We Hear on Tonight’s Episode of ‘The Voice’?

Last week, The Voice contestants pushed themselves out of their comfort zones to perform songs that they usually wouldn’t choose for themselves. Some decided to choose more advanced artists while others chose different genres altogether. For the most part, the results were unique and personalized covers highlighted the vocalist’s skills while also honoring the original melody of the song.

Unfortunately for Holly Forbes and Jeremy Rosada, this wasn’t the case.

This week, the theme of The Voice song choices are from the 90s, so that means some Joni Mitchell, Marvin Gaye and even some Celine Dion.

Three Contestants Will Have to Say Goodbye to Their Coaches

For the past couple weeks, we’ve seen The Voice contestants leave two at a time during the elimination rounds. But now, three contestants will depart from the big stage. So, the song choices and performances have to be extremely sharp.

For our duo and trio, that means that their harmonies will not only have to be clean, but they have to be transcendent and show that two or three voices on stage are more powerful than one. As for Lana Scott, our fledgling country star, she has to demonstrate her ability to match the emotion and projection as the great female country artists of the 90s. And for Hailey Mia, she’ll need to prove that age is only a number.
