‘The Voice’: Watch the Contestants React to Emotional ‘Instant Save’ Selection

by Madison Miller

“The Voice” just wrapped up its second week of live performances. Now, we are down to the Top 11 on the popular NBC singing competition.

At the end of the show, America was able to vote for one person as the Instant Save. The three contestants up for the save stood together on the stage waiting for the news. The singers were Ryleigh Plank from Team Ariana Grande, Gymani from Team Kelly Clarkson, and Shadale from Team John Legend.

The three women stood huddled together holding hands. In a dramatic moment, Carson Daly announced, “Gymani! You are moving on with Team Kelly!”

Kelly Clarkson immediately soars out of her seat and starts to scream in pure joy and excitement. Meanwhile, Gymani is standing in the middle of the stage looking absolutely stunned. There is cheering surrounding her and the two other competitors are both affectionately congratulating her.

She eventually wraps Plank and Shadale in a big hug on stage as Clarkson ascends the stairs in their direction.

Gymani was able to win over viewers with her rendition of “Sweet Love” by Anita Baker. She effortlessly hit some incredibly high notes and even dipped her way into some lower notes for the stunning performance. Somehow, she still ended up in the bottom three last night.

“You are just an outstanding vocalist. I have been doing this for 20 years, and you inspire me. You make me want to sing better, and you push me. You’re an incredible singer and momma and lead such a great example….you can sing with me anytime!” Kelly Clarkson said right before Daly opened up the window for voting.

She will now continue with her run on “The Voice” alongside the 10 other artists who made it through.

The Rest of ‘The Voice’ Top 11

While Gymani just barely made it after being in the bottom three, other contestants also were announced as safe throughout the night.

The contestants that made it through to the next round include A Girl Named Tom, Hailey Mia, Holly Forbes, Lana Scott, Jeremy Rosado, Joshua Vacanti, Jershika Maple, Jim and Sasha Allen, Paris Winningham, and Wendy Moten.

Kelly Clarkson is the last coach with a trio on her team. A Girl Named Tom was the first to be announced as a member of the Top 11.

The night was also scattered with team performances as well. Team Legend, Shadale, Vacanti, and Jershika, performed Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry About a Thing.” Team Kelly Clarkson sang “U Move, I Move” by John Legend with her team consisting of A Girl Named Tom, Gymani, Mia, and Rosado.

Going into next week, Clarkson and Shelton have three singers each, and Legend and Grande only have two performers each.
