‘The Voice’: We Still Can’t Believe Team Blake’s Newest Member Is Only 15-Years-Old

“The Voice” season 21 just kicked off and the four coaches are already lining up some pretty stellar artists on their teams.

This season’s coaches include Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and newcomer Ariana Grande. Although we are only two episodes into the new season, the rosters are impressive.

Right now, Blake Shelton has Peedy Chavis, Wendy Moten, Lana Scott, and Hailey Green on his team.

Blake Shelton’s Talented Artist on Team

Viewers were awestruck with Hailey Green’s stellar performance of Michael Broussard’s song “Home.” Fans and the coaches were even more shocked to learn the talented artist was only 15 years old.

Green has a deep, powerful, sultry voice with a lot of gravel and rasp tied into it. Blake Shelton was the only one to turn around for her, which means he automatically has her on Team Blake.

John Legend said, “The voice you have on you is so powerful and adult sounding.”

“Your voice is absolutely amazing, you have so many unique tools like the growl … I regret not turning and we’re not going to hear the end of this,” Ariana Grande chimed in.

It’s beyond likely that Blake Shelton will boast this addition to his team for some time to come. After all, it is Blake Shelton. As Legend said, “We never hear the end of anything with him.”

If Hailey Green looks at all familiar to you, then you likely recognize her when she auditioned two seasons ago in 2020. At the time, she came on “The Voice” as a 14-year-old but had no chair turns for her performance of the song “Soulshine” by The Allman Brothers Band.

Luckily, she had a successful shot at redemption this time around.

Blake Shelton and Ariana Grande

As for Blake Shelton and Ariana Grande, the two seem to be getting along pretty well so far. They have that same bickering, love-hate relationship that is the basis of every friendship over on “The Voice.”

Shelton shared a link over text to an article that was claiming Grande is his replacement for future seasons of the show. “Thanks a lot Ari… Thanks a f–kin’ lot..,” the text message read. According to Page Six, Grande took a screenshot of the text conversation and posted it at the very end of a photo dump on Instagram.

The text conversation is all in good fun which means that the claims are likely far from true. The article claims producers are trying to search for someone else that is “younger and more current.” This is because Grande’s status as an insanely popular pop star has so far brought in some younger viewers that the singing competition hasn’t gotten in the past.

Ariana Grande also hilariously posted an edited clip from “Mean Girls.” Regina George is writing in the Burn Book from the movie, but instead of a picture of herself, it’s a photo of Blake Shelton.

So far, she is fitting in really well to the hilarious chaos and rivalries over on “The Voice.”
