‘Chicago PD’: 2 Major Characters Noticeably Absent From Season 9 Teaser Pics

Two major characters from Chicago PD are noticeably absent from the new teaser pics for season 9.

Both Ruzek and Burgess are nowhere to be found in the new pics that dropped. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t be in the episode altogether. The series had an action-packed season finale that saw the cover-up of a shooting, a proposal, and a character shot and sent to the hospital. Now, Chicago PD is almost back, so where are Burgess and Ruzek?

Kim Burgess, played by Marina Squerciati is likely still in the hospital. Ruzek is probably waiting for the news of what’s to come. While they may not be pictured in the teaser pictures, they’ll likely still play a role in the upcoming episode considering that Burgess getting hospitalized was a major part of the cliffhanger for season 8.

TV Insider has a great list of season 9 teaser pics for fans to peruse, but it’ll be a little longer still until fans get to see Burgess and Ruzek. The photos do, however, show a lot. For instance, one photo shows Voight standing over a lit fire. Season 8’s finale involved burning the body of a suspect, so it could be close after.

Chicago PD is still chugging along after almost a decade on air, and fans are excited to see the series make a return. The season 9 premiere episode is titled Closure, but who gets that closure and in what way remains unclear.

Deputy Samantha Miller also appears in the photos alongside Officer Atwater. In the photos, she wears a bulletproof vest and has a pistol in her hand. Maybe the “closure” has something to do with her and the case involving the death of her son.

While everything is speculation now, thankfully, there isn’t too much longer to wait for answers as fall is right around the corner.

‘Chicago PD’ is a Part of A Major Dick Wolf Franchise

Chicago PD is yet another show spearheaded by famous Executive Producer Dick Wolf. The show is a part of the One Chicago franchise series featuring Chicago Fire and Chicago Med. All three of the shows are coming back this fall on Wednesday, September 22nd.

If you’re a fan of these shows, you may be a fan of Dick Wolf’s other shows. The man truly seems to be dominating primetime TV. The day after the Chicago franchise comes back, the infamous Law & Order franchise also makes a return. Dick Wolf also helms the FBI franchise which airs on CBS.

The three Chicago shows are ripe with crossover potential, and many fans are hoping to see plenty of crossover events with Chicago PD. Whatever happens this year, these three shows are shaping up to be a solid competitor for Wednesday night ratings.
