Not even motorcycle accidents can keep Storage Wars‘ Barry Weiss away from the storage units.
Storage Wars is a reality show about a group of bidders hoping to strike it rich buying repossessed storage units. The show has aired on A&E since 2010, although new episodes haven’t been released since 2019. The network just announced that it’s releasing season 13 of the popular show, so fans are delighted. But it gets even better – several original cast members are returning for the new season including fan-favorite Barry Weiss.
For the first four seasons of the show, Barry Weiss could always be depended on for his knowledge at the auction block and his witty one-liners. However, Weiss announced that he was leaving the show in 2015. During an interview in 2017, Weiss talked about his decision to leave the show.
“I had a blast,” said Weiss. “It was fun, but I had enough and I kind of wanted to leave while it was still popular.”
Barry Weiss Returns To Storage Wars After A Six-Year Hiatus
After leaving Storage Wars, Weiss starred in the spinoff show, Barry’d Treasure. But the show only ran for eight episodes. He also starred in the spinoff series, Storage Wars: Barry Strikes Back which aired for 10 episodes. No one heard too much from Weiss until 2019 when he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. He and his friend were riding when a car reportedly pulled out of a parking space and the two crashed into the car. The accident resulted in several injuries to Weiss’s chest and legs. He also suffered internal injuries, broken bones, and needed multiple surgeries on his back and femur. Needless to say, he was out of the auctioneering game for a while.
However, fans quickly spotted Weiss in the trailer for the new season of Storage Wars. Viewers can see him walking across a series of units wearing a black shirt and mask. A&E even featured Weiss under the cast page for the show on their website. In conclusion, there’s no doubt about it, Barry Weiss is returning for season 13 of Storage Wars.
Who else can fans expect to see in season 13? The new season of Storage Wars includes original auctioneers, Dan and Laura “Pay the Lady” Dotson are back. Additionally, Darrell Sheets is coming out of retirement to join the show again. Nezhodas, Rene, and Casey are back, as well as Ivy Calvin and his sons. Kenny Crossley is also returning to the show. Fans can tune in for new episodes of Storage Wars on April 20 at 9/8c.
