USA Lands Cable Rights to ‘9-1-1’

That’s right 9-1-1 fans! The popular Fox first-responder drama begins its run in syndication on the USA Network this month.

The first airing of the series on the popular NBCUniversal channel will be coming very soon. The first episode is set to run on the USA network on Wednesday, January 5. Not only that, but the network is planning to play a block of some favorite 9-1-1 episodes between 7 pm and 11 pm.

The exciting news that the NBC Universal cable network recently obtained the rights to the popular Fox drama series was released not too long ago. The popular drama series is currently airing its most recent season on Fox.

9-1-1 is the perfect addition to USA Network,” notes Val Boreland, Executive Vice President, Entertainment Content Acquisitions, NBCUniversal Television & Streaming of the recent acquisition.

Boreland adds that the USA Network has “long been a destination for big, iconic characters and event television.” This, of course, makes it the perfect place for the 9-1-1 reruns.

“The show is a proven hit with critics and audiences alike,” the exec says of 9-1-1.

“Making this a home run for our viewers who can now enjoy these incredible seasons as part of our portfolio’s growing library,” Boreland adds.

‘9-1-1’ Is Getting New Life On USA

9-1-1 first premiered on Fox in the winter of 2018.

The acquisition of the series by the USA is a sort of nod to the past. Something we don’t see too often in the era of streaming services.

It wasn’t long ago that networks such as the NBCUniversal favorite would clamor to land the rights. Networks would battle to gain the only rights in order to air reruns of dramas such as 9-1-1.

The series will become available on the USA Network by midweek.

Additionally, there are other options to watch the series. In addition to its regular run-time, 9-1-1 is currently available for streaming via Hulu.

This exciting deal promises to bring 9-1-1 fans episodes from the first four seasons of the popular Fox drama.

From the start 9-1-1 has been a hit with fans. The series portrays the lives of various first-responders at home and on the job.

The series stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi, Ryan Guzman. 9-1-1 also features a variety of regular players such as Aisha Hinds, Rockmond Dunbar, Corinne Massiah, Marcanthonee Jon Reis, and Gavin McHugh.

This exciting deal promises to bring fans of the hit 9-1-1 series some of our favorite episodes; spanning across the first four seasons.
