“Walker” fans might not be as plentiful as “Law & Order: SVU” fans, but they sure are loyal. And, listen, losing a favorite character totally blows. Most fandoms have learned that by now, unfortunately. It doesn’t make it sting any less though. So when Lindsey Morgan announced her exit from “Walker,” it makes sense that the fans immediately worried about whether or not the show would kill off her Micki character. But at the end of the day, we’re not the only ones who lost a “friend.” The cast members like Odette Annable also lost a loving coworker.
And that’s a whole different kind of loss. I mean coworkers can really make or break a whole team, just ask anybody who’s toured in the past. Or surely you remember your high school days, bagging groceries and goofing off with your favorite staff. Well, here’s Odette Annable’s reaction to Lindsey Morgan leaving the show.
Odette Annable Describes Lindsey Morgan’s Departure from ‘Walker’ as a ‘Big Loss’
“It is a big loss to lose Lindsey [Morgan from ‘Walker’] for sure,” says Odette Annable in a recent interview. She then gushes about her costar calling her extremely talented and says she loves Morgan “so much.” But what are the odds that the gal pals get some more time together before Morgan’s official departure?
Well, not great, I’m sorry to report. Odette Annable says she wanted to see Micki and Geri share gossip and cocktails at the bar just as much as the rest of us. Not only that, but apparently, “that really was the plan for this season.” The writers had locked down plans to explore their budding friendship over the next few episodes.
But, of course, Morgan’s decision comes as a personal one and the whole of the “Walker” cast respects that. Actually, it seems there’s no bad blood on either end, which is a relief. The star’s personal statement in part read:
“This decision was entirely my choice,” she noted. “I am overwhelmed with gratitude to all those involved for their full support and compassion. I have only been treated with the utmost respect, kindness and appreciation from this cast, crew, production, writing team, network and studio.”
A Light at the End of the Tunnel
Odette Annable does offer “Walker” fans some hope with the rest of her interview. She says that although Micki and Geri won’t be exploring their relationship together anytime soon, “that doesn’t mean it can’t happen at a later time.”
As for Annable and Morgan off-set, their friendship doesn’t appear to be going anywhere either. Annable reveals that the star is sticking around in Austin, Texas for the time being. That means plenty of hangs and Odette says she “considers her lucky in that way” for that reason.
