WATCH: Pat Sajak Tosses His Show Card as He Makes Hilarious Blunder on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

During tonight’s episode of Wheel of Fortune, longtime host Pat Sajak mixed up his words, which made for an amusing blooper on the game show.

Right before the game show paused for a commercial break tonight, Sajak hilariously misspoke when saying the word “triple.” At least we assume that’s what the veteran host was trying to pronounce when he addressed fans at home at the end of a mid-game round.

A contestant named Hunter was in the lead with solid earnings of $12,550. Sajak congratulated the Wheel of Fortune competitor for his early winnings and attempted to set up the show’s next segment. Things didn’t exactly go to plan though.

“He’s got $12,550. Nice going, Hunter. I’m glad for you,” the Wheel of Fortune host said to the contestant before the commercial break.

“Thank you,” Hunter responded to Pat Sajak.

“We’ll be back, and we’ll try a tipple… (laughs). Ah, who cares?!” Sajak hilariously said as he gave up and threw his show-card in the air.

The famous host fumbled his words, which made for quite an amusing reaction. He seemed to have a good laugh at it though along with the contestants and the crowd in attendance.

Considering Pat Sajak has been at the helm of the popular game show for four decades, he’s bound to misspeak here and there. The man speaks for a living, so he gets a pass for the honest mistake. At least he took it in stride.

“It’s okay, we know what you mean, Pat!” Wheel of Fortune wrote alongside a laughing emoji.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Host ‘Afraid of a Viewer Revolt’ Over Game Show’s Major Change

Recently, Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak voiced his concern about a small change to the game this season. He also joked that fans may “revolt” once they realize the miniscule difference in gameplay.

In a clip from the game show titled “No More Final Spin For Pat!,” Sajak opens up about the change while speaking with his daughter Maggie. The title is somewhat self-explanatory to most fans of the long-running game show.

For decades, Sajak took it upon himself to spin the wheel for the final round. As the chime goes off in the studio, it signals the end of the regular rounds of play. Sajak would typically grab ahold of the wheel and spin one final time, but now a contestant will do so instead.

“The reason [for the change] is, honestly, I’ve never liked the idea of imposing the host on the game. That always bothered me a little bit. We finally got to talking. We said, ‘Look, someone’s spinning the wheel anyway. We’ll save time…So the final spin, at least as far as the host is concerned, is one, but the final spin remains. I’m just not doing it.”

Although a minor change, Sajak knows some Wheel of Fortune fans may not be happy with the change. That’s why he joked that he’s “afraid of a viewer revolt” because of the subtle alteration to the game show.
