One “Wheel of Fortune” contestant drove away in a brand new car during last night’s episode after a crazy puzzle solve.
Kevin, one of last night’s contestants, managed to make it to the final Bonus Round. The category was “Living Things,” and he had a few letters already up on the board to help him out. After listing his three consonants and one vowel — “P, H, G, O,” he still had a fair amount of puzzle left to solve.
“Can you do it? He’s been a good puzzle solver,” the host for “Wheel of Fortune,” Pat Sajak, commented. “Ten seconds to try to talk it out. Just use the letter board. Maybe that’ll help you. Good luck!”
Less than a second after the clock started, Kevin answered, “Jaguars in the wild.”
“Or maybe you don’t need help, I don’t know,” Sajak quickly backtracked, as the audience burst into applause and Vanna White threw up her hands.
“You think you’re pretty clever don’t you?” Sajak asked. “No,” Kevin answered.
“You need a car?” Sajak followed up. “Yes!” Kevin exclaimed, pumping his fist. In addition to his $18,500 from earlier in the game, the “Wheel of Fortune” contestant drove away with a brand new Mazda CX-5.
The official “Wheel of Fortune” Instagram account shared the clip of Kevin’s victory below, along with this caption. “Kevin solves this LIVING THINGS puzzle and is driving home in a new car!” the caption reads.
‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant Once Danced with Prince
One of Kevin’s competitors on “Wheel of Fortune” last night shared an absolutely incredible story. The contestant, named Desiree, apparently danced with Prince once.
The official “Wheel of Fortune” Instagram account shared a clip of Desiree’s story, where host Pat Sajak looks like he can’t believe what she’s saying.
“I was with my fake ID at Glam Slam, his nightclub in downtown L.A., and security came up to me,” Desiree said. “I thought they were busting me for my fake ID, but no, it was because Prince wanted to dance with me. So we danced to ‘Rump Shaker.’”
Afterward, apparently, the pop singer taught Desiree how to play pool. “Which is why I play pool very badly,” she quipped.
The “Wheel of Fortune” host told Desiree she should write a book about her encounter. He “swore” he’d read it, even raising his right hand like a Boy Scout. We’re not sure if there’s any more to Desiree’s story that she could add to make her story a full-length novel. But it’s still gotta be a super fun tale to tell at parties or in ice breaker situations.
