This Wheel of Fortune contestant had to tap into her knowledge of zoology to answer this Bonus Puzzle correctly.

San Francisco resident Kanchi Batra managed to sail through the regular round of the game show, picking up a trip to Puerto Rico along the way. Now, with a “Living Things” puzzle ahead of her, she was about to see if she could pick up a little extra cash before heading home to pack her bags.

The category that the Wheel of Fortune contestant chose has been a tricky one in the past, and Batra had a lengthy answer ahead of her. The usual letters, R S T L N E, gave her a bit of help, but she still needed to think about her own letter choices wisely.

After surveying her options, Batra settled on C D P A, lighting up just a few more boxes on the board.

Thankfully, she didn’t need anymore to guess, “Gophers and Groundhogs.”

As always, Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak was just as excited as the contestant about the win. He urged her to shout the answer just a couple more times so that she was more confident in her guess.

Then he revealed that she would be driving her $60,000 in winnings home in her new Mazda MX30.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant Wins Car Following Previous Debacle

Recently, Wheel of Fortune and Pat Sajak, in particular, has been under fire for their decision regarding a Bonus Puzzle prize. Earlier this month, a contestant guessed the Bonus Puzzle answer, “Choosing the Right Word,” correctly. However, according to Sajak, because the contestant didn’t say the answer as a continuous phrase, they couldn’t award her with the Audi Q3.

Take a look.

Not surprisingly, plenty of Wheel of Fortune watchers criticized the show for its decision and the technical rule. Some even called for the show to revoke the rule altogether, as the qualifications for it could get quite muddy.

Jeopardy! champ Alex Jacob even brought up the point that “stretching out” one of the words to avoid any pauses could bypass the rule.

“Now I’m wondering if she had just stretched out the word ‘riiiiiiiiiight,’ would that have counted as a continuous answer? I understand rules are rules but this seems like a particularly dumb rule. C’mon Wheel, it’s Christmas,” he prompted the Wheel of Fortune team.

Thankfully, for the contestant, though, Audi was aware of the Bonus Puzzle situation and took matters into their own hands. Once they saw how close the contestant was to winning her own Q3, they decided to gift her one anyway.
