Carrie Underwood’s night at the 2020 ACM Awards went almost flawlessly except for one little mishap. The “Before He Cheats” singer forgot to mention her husband Mike Fisher and kids, Isaiah and Jacob, in her acceptance speech.

In the press room on Wednesday, Sept, 16, Underwood apologized for failing to give her immediate family members a shout out while on stage. “First, I want to say that I’m a dummy for not mentioning my husband or my children in my acceptance speech,” Underwood said, Us Weekly reports.

She continued by saying: “You would think after this many years of seeing other people do speeches and giving some of my own, I would think of people that are important to me, so I’m sorry!”

In conclusion, Underwood added, “But I do love my children and my husband.”

Here’s What Carrie Underwood Said in Her Acceptance Speech at the 2020 ACM Awards

Underwood made history on Wednesday night at the 2020 ACM Awards after tying for the Entertainer of the Year trophy. She and Thomas Rhett both took home the hardware. This marked the 37-year-old country superstar’s third time winning the category and the “Die a Happy Man” singer’s first.

During her acceptance speech, Underwood expressed her gratitude for the people in her circle. “Thank you, God, so much,” Underwood said. “All glory, glory to God. Thank you to the ACM not just for this, but for putting me in such incredible company.”

She continued by showing support for her fellow Entertainer of the Year nominees, as well as co-winner Thomas Rhett. “I am more than happy to share this with Thomas Rhett and to have my name mentioned with his and Luke [Bryan] and Luke [Combs] and Eric Church. I am beyond honored. Thank you,” she said.

Underwood lastly addressed the fans and referenced the ongoing coronavirus lockdown. “You guys, hold on. [Concerts] will happen again,” she said. “Just hold on!”
