Yesterday, the Twitter trend “tomorrow is September” had users spooked with how fast 2020 has gone. It seems that now that September 1st has sunk in though, many are now excited for Halloween.
Users have begun their count down to Halloween using humorous gifs and memes to show their excitement.
The viral tweets aren’t the only taste of Halloween hitting Twitter feeds, though. Freeform officially announced the 31 Nights Of Halloween schedule earlier today at 9 am PT.
Freeform also released a “Spooky Season” preview to Youtube with clips of classic Halloween films.
The festivities will kick off on October 1 when Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory airs at 12:30 Pacific, followed by Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. Hocus Pocus will be the main event, airing at 9 pm PT.
Viewers can expect to see Beetlejuice, Casper, Twitches, and Sleepy Hollow. Additionally, movies from the Hotel Transylvania, Halloweentown, Ghost Busters, and Twitches series will be shown.
The month will close on Saturday, October 31 with the 1984 Ghostbusters at 11:30 PT. The last day’s schedule disappoints some fans, who expect the annual 24-hour marathon of Hocus Pocus. However, others are excited about this year’s schedule saying it may be the best schedule to date.
While some are worried about Halloween being altered this year due to Covid-19, others joke about potential solutions, to add fun to the weird time.
One user even replied to Freeform’s Youtube video, explaining her excitement given that Halloween will most likely be “cancelled” this year. User named “a girl from New York” comments, “Halloween has been cancelled in my city this year. Least I can look forward to creepy movie 🍿s”
