9-1-1 is kicking into high gear as the mid-season finale approaches. And from a preview, it looks like Eddie is going to be in major trouble. The episode will follow after last night’s emotional episode called Past is Prologue. Eddie wasn’t the main focus last night, but that’s going to change in the next episode, Wrapped in Red.

Here’s the episode description for Wrapped in Red:

“The members of the 118 are called to series of emergencies around Christmas Eve. Then, Eddie struggles with an emotional Christopher,” the description reads.

While the episode description is notably vague, it does put Eddie back in the spotlight. The episode, which will be the last episode of 9-1-1 for the year, looks like it’s going to deal with a more personal storyline with Eddie and Christopher.

It’s hard to say what has Christopher down in the dumps. But it may have to do with his father’s breakup with Ana. Eddie even wanted to stay in a relationship with Ana long past the time it wasn’t working just so Christopher wouldn’t have to deal with the emotional fallout.

Obviously, that’s not very sustainable. The two just broke up, and we haven’t seen all the fallout with Christopher yet.

The new video promo for the show doesn’t give us a glimpse of Christopher at all, but it does show us Eddie, who isn’t looking his jolliest.

The winter finale of 9-1-1 is set to air on Monday, December 6 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m CT. After that, we won’t have any new episodes of 9-1-1 for the rest of the year. 9-1-1: Lone Star is set to come back in that timeslot on January 3rd.

Lone Star is a spinoff of 9-1-1 and follows a group of first responders in Austin, Texas. It stars Rob Lowe, Ronen Rubenstein, Raphael L Silva, Natacha Karam, and Liv Tyler. Fans were bummed to learn it wouldn’t return in the fall and have been waiting patiently for the new season.

What We Know About When ‘9-1-1’ Will Return

We don’t actually know when 9-1-1 will return yet, but it probably won’t be until around March. Maybe, by the time it returns, we’ll be able to see more of Maddie and Chimney, who fans have been seriously missing this year.

Maddie left in the season premiere, and Chimney has gone looking for her, giving fans very little to work with as he tries to track her down. The upcoming mid-season finale will also probably give us more questions than answers. They tend to leave people on some cliffhangers.

But hopefully, the new episode will also bring fans plenty of cheer as 9-1-1 says its goodbye for the holidays.
