Aerosmith has a new home!

Universal Music Group will be the owners of the iconic rock band’s entire music catalog. Additionally, this will include future new music releases, merchandise, and audio-visual content.

The news comes with Aerosmith’s 50th anniversary as a band which they will celebrate in 2022. This new partnership will give them access to the band’s “Vindaloo Vaults,” the band’s personal archive. This vault includes music, photos, video footage, artwork, journals, setlists and memorabilia. Aerosmith’s upcoming release will give fans access to never before seen or heard music and visuals.

Universal Music Group will help the band “develop, produce and distribute new film, television and other audio-visual content projects celebrating Aerosmith’s history and significant cultural impact.” The best part? These new projects will be announced shortly!

Universal Music Group and YouTube have a partnership where they bring older music videos into current video and audio standards. They recently released the updated versions of “Dude Looks Like a Lady” and “Dream On.”

“It’s been a long road but I’m extremely happy and proud to say on behalf of Aerosmith we have been able to bring our 50 years of music under one roof by partnering with UMG. This will allow us to bring our music to our fans in ways we never were able to before,” Joe Perry said in a press release. “It’s something we’ve dreamed about happening for a long time. It’s a win for Aerosmith, UMG, and ultimately our fans. Needless to say, we are very excited. It’s an incredible way to celebrate 50 years and the many more years to come.”

Aerosmith’s manager Larry Rudolph said that he and Sir Lucian were able to “craft perhaps the most unique and mutually beneficial catalog arrangement in history and providing a huge commitment to Aerosmith. “
