‘Alaskan Bush People’: Bear Brown Updates Fans While Filming Show, Thanks Crewmembers

by Jon D. B.

“Life definitely hasn’t been easy,” says “Alaskan Bush People” star Bear Brown, but that isn’t stopping him from showing love to the crew.

Hasn’t been easy, indeed. The Browns lost their beloved patriarch, Billy Brown, after a fatal stroke in February. Ever since, his family has been struggling to adapt. Some, like eldest son Matt Brown, have come out on the other side of substance abuse – while also “revealing” shocking “secrets and truths” about his parents. Others, like Bear Brown himself, are just trying to keep the “Alaskan Bush People” train rolling.

Through Bear, we know that the hit Discovery Channel show is getting at least one more season. Within, the Browns will pay tribute to their father whilst dealing with the aftermath of 2020’s devastating fires.

For now, however, all we know is what the family shows and tells us. And Thursday, Bear looks to be hard at work filming “Alaskan Bush People” still.

In a celebratory post to his private Instagram, Bear tells followers “It’s a lot of fun getting to work with such awesome people!!! Life definitely hasn’t been easy lately, but it’s still a honor!!!”

Within, he shares shots of himself with three crew members, each with a big ol’ smile to match his own. Unfortunately, the “life definitely hasn’t been easy lately” part of Bear’s sentiment has led to the reality star setting his Instagram back to max privacy settings. As such, we can’t embed his photos here as Outsider was able to for a few months after Billy Brown’s tragic passing.

‘Alaskan Bush People’ Family Is Steeped in Turmoil

All in all, we can’t blame Bear for setting his profile back to these settings. Recently, his brother Matt Brown has hit with several startling accusations that have “Alaskan Bush People” fans questioning everything they thought they knew about this family. In fact, Matt has now shared several videos on his own Instagram that he claims show how terrible his family’s production and ongoing predicaments have become.

It’s a rough batch of statements to swallow, but some “Alaskan Bush People” viewers have seen this coming for a long time. After a horrific recounting of his time on the show, Matt claims production was looking to lock him up “in a rubber room”. For him, the only option during his last days on set was to “escape to Washington.”

Apparently, through all of Matt Brown’s struggles with substance abuse, multiple counselors and rehab specialists told the then-star to escape a show that, he says, was “making me lie all the time.”

His statement lines up with persistent rumors about “Alaskan Bush People“s tenure on air. Many viewers suspect the show to be heavily scripted.

In addition, previous tax and legal troubles for the Brown family point to the stars not actually living “in the wilderness” as they claim to, either. From Matt’s deeply personal 9-minute monologue, it sounds as if the show created quite the toxic atmosphere for himself and his siblings.

Discovery Has More to Come From the Browns…

Bear Brown himself, however, has rebutted this directly.

“I would like to set the record straight about the things my older brother has posted, none of it is true!,” Bear posts to his own Instagram recently. “It’s heartbreaking that he would say such horrible lies about Da just a few months after he passed away! I pray he can find the peace and serenity in his life that he needs. God bless everyone!”

Whether to expect any clarity from the upcoming “Alaskan Bush People” season is anyone’s guess.
