The Alaskan Bush People star Bear Brown shared a mirror selfie from a pretty swanky hotel room, meaning Bear and his family are celebrating son River’s birthday within the vicinity of civilization. And what a nice-looking civilization it appears to be!

Brown recently took to his Instagram account, expressing how he wants to honor his father by choosing the right person to raise his son with. Brown’s account is private, but if you follow him, the photo can be viewed here.

“I’m glad my Dad got to meet my son, his grandson,” Brown said. “I will always remember the twinkle in his eyes when he held him! Hold tight to your loved ones! You never know when it’s the last moment you’ll get with them.”

Bear Brown Celebrates River and Honors Billy

Alaskan Bush People star Bear Brown was also honoring his late father while celebrating his son’s first birthday.

Bear and his girlfriend, Raiven Adams, posted adorable photos of their son, River, at his first birthday party. The happy little boy is covered in cake and seems to be having the time of his life.

Brown captioned the Instagram post with a heartfelt message to his late father, Billy Brown.

“Today is my boy’s first Birthday!!!” he writes. “River is officially one year old! I’ve also taken to calling him Little Billy, in honor of Da, I know without a doubt, my Dad would be proud of me! I will try my hardest to be as good as a dad as he was!”

“Someone who was always there for me, someone who always had the right answer, no matter how silly, or serious the question, someone who always stood up for what he believed in!” Bear continues. “Someone that helped everyone he came across, someone that cared about people that didn’t care about him! Someone that truly loved life! And believed in God with all his heart!”

Billy was the patriarch of the famous Alaskan Bush People family and father of seven children, including Bear. Brown died on Feb. 7 after suffering a seizure at the age of 68. Fortunately, the Papa Bear of the family was able to meet River before he passed.

“I have large boots to fill!” Bear concluded. “And I will give my all to try to fill them!!!! Happy 1st Birthday River!!!! Daddy loves you!!!”
