Matt Brown formerly of Alaskan Bush People continues to rebuild his life following a string of personal issues. He announced last month that he had been sober for a year, but that he was nearly homeless, hungry, and almost broke in an Instagram video.
It seems he’ll be able to take care of some of his money problems by getting a job at a friend’s orchard. Again, he took to Instagram to share the news.
“Good day friends 👋 I have good news I found a job in town I’m going to be working for a friend here in his orchard,” he wrote.
Brown Slams ‘Alaskan Bush People,’ His Family
Last week, Matt Brown uploaded a 9-minute video to his channel with the caption “the truth.” In it, he appears to be camping and makes several major claims against the show Alaskan Bush People and his family.
Matt Brown said the producers of Alaskan Bush People asked the family to fake a lot of the show. He said they have had modern conveniences for decades, but the show asked them to pretend as if they didn’t.
“I loved filming the show, but I didn’t like lying about the way I live and the way things are in life,” he claims in the video. He said the lying was part of the reason he turned to alcohol and drugs to cope.
He also slammed his late father. Matt’s dad, Billy Brown, the patriarch of the Alaskan Bush People family, died in February after suffering a seizure. Matt claims in his video that Billy Bush kept the $360,000 Matt earned through the show.
He also admits to falling in love with a married woman shortly after leaving the Betty Ford Clinic. He was suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction, as was she. Though he fully admits that what they did was wrong, he says they were in love. But the three-year relationship turned toxic after she relapsed, he claims, and he fled to Washington to escape the situation.
Bear Brown Denies Allegations
Matt is estranged from the rest of his mother and six siblings and they want nothing to do with him.
Bear Brown, one of the most outspoken of his brothers, has come out and said Matt is lying. He said he hopes his brother can find “the peace and serenity” that he needs to move on.
“I would like to set the record straight about the things my older brother has posted, none of it is true! It’s heartbreaking that he would say such horrible lies about Dad just a few months after he passed away! I pray he can find the peace and serenity in his life that he needs. God bless everyone,” he posted on Instagram.
