Since the patriarch of the “Alaskan Bush People” family passed away in February, some members of the family have been especially active on social media.
Gabe Brown, the 29-year-old son of Billy and Ami Brown, recently posted a message regarding loss and grief.
He wrote on Instagram, “Take nothing for granted. The air we breath [sic], the food we eat, clean water, most importantly, the people who make you feel whole. What I wouldn’t give to have just one yesterday with Da back. If hearing those words makes you think of someone in your life, please go hug them for me.”
Gabe Brown Life And Social Media
Gabe Brown left the wilderness life and “Alaskan Bush People” after his child, Sophie, was born. He married his wife Raquell in January 2019. Gabe had left Instagram and returned in late April with several new posts.
According to his Discovery Channel biography, Gabe has been in love with the ocean since he was three years old. He loves doing wilderness-related tasks that involve any kind of muscle power, such as grabbing heavy lumber. Additionally, he is fluent in sign language and has been pursuing his love for art.
Gabe also showed off his art skills on his Instagram account. He posted a sketch of a man with the caption, “Art thou me? Not my usual medium, and it’s just a quick sketch, so please don’t judge too harshly. I hope everyone is doing okay today.”
Gabe Brown’s first post back after his father’s death talked about the weight of the loss. He wrote in part, “Being happy used to be easy. There was nothing to be sad about. Sure there were always ups, and downs, but at the end of the day as long as I could look around, and see those faces of the ppl I love happy was easy.”
Bear Brown is also very active on social media. He is the one that released the news of Billy Brown’s passing. Matt Brown has also been posting about his recent struggles on social media. He has been on the outs with the family after two separate sexual assault allegations. Recently, Matt also posted a video where he claimed his father took all the money from “Alaskan Bush People” and didn’t share it, amidst other serious allegations toward the family.
Another Season Of ‘Alaskan Bush People’
“Alaskan Bush People” has aired for 12 seasons so far. As Discovery Channel describes them, “They’ve developed their own dialect, refer to themselves as a ‘wolf pack,’ and sleep together in a one-room cabin. They’re unlike any other family in America.”
After the tragic passing of Billy Brown, it has been unclear if the show is coming back for a 13th season. In many ways, Billy Brown was the foundation of the remote family.
Ami Brown has also had her own personal health issues over the past few years. The family actually moved to Washington to be closer to medical treatment after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Due to this as well as many of the family members off doing their own thing, the show’s future is unclear.
It’s also unclear if they would want to continue without Billy Brown at their side. Bear Brown had posted about season 13 prior to his father’s death. It seemed to be filmed already, which would mean the season would still include the late patriarch of “The Alaskan Bush People.”
However, the family and Discovery Channel have not clearly stated anything regarding the show.
