Courtesy of Gabe’s wife, Raquell, we now know that the Alaskan Bush People couple brought another baby girl into the world in September. The lovebirds have been raising 2-year-old Sophia in front of audiences, but chose to keep their growing family private. Raquell, however, brought a rare update to fans on Monday via Instagram.
“Hello everyone! I’d like to share with you a special picture and some insight into your life recently. This year has been especially hard for our family, but with hard time, blessings come as well,” begins Raquell in her reveal post. While the family is choosing to keep their precious girl’s name and face private, the update is beyond-welcome for Alaskan Bush People fans:
“As many of you have noticed, I take my privacy and my children’s privacy very seriously. You may not see us around often, as you do with Gabe, none the less we’re still here,” she continues via Instagram.
“We continue to ask for our privacy from the public eye,” Raquell requests. But “Within the last month we’ve welcomed another addition to our family and Sophie is happy to be a big sister. Thank you for all your support and many blessings to the future!” she offers.
“Sophie says ‘Awww cute! Baby sister’,” the proud mother adds with a loving emoji.
This is familiar territory for Alaskan Bush People fans. Two years ago, Gabe and Raquell kept the birth of Sophia hidden from the public, as well. The little one has since shown up in rare photos alongside the Brown family, but remains out of the public eye.
‘Alaskan Bush People’ Family Continues to Grow Amidst Loss of Patriarch
Fans would eventually learn of Sophia’s birth on a Season 11 episode of Alaskan Bush People.
“Being a dad is great, you know taking care of little ones. I feel like I was kind of geared for it,” Gabe Brown said at the time of his first daughter. “It’s definitely different though when you’re the dad. Like, you’re the guy… The buck stops there!”
In truth, Gabe feels “Life on the mountain’s pretty rough. But that’s the way all of my brothers and sisters grew up.” As a result, he doesn’t want Sophia “to be a city baby. I want her to be a bush baby,” he said.
“So I want some of her first sights and smells to be of the bush so she remembers what my childhood reminds me of,” he continued.
Gabe’s late father, Billy Brown, would get to meet his grandchild, Sophia. Gabe and Raquell’s second daughter, however, would come into the world months after the patriarch’s tragic death.
Congratulations from all of us Outsiders to the growing Alaskan Bush People family!
