‘Alaskan Bush People’: While Bird Heads to Alaska, Gabe Brown Has Some Unusual Duties

by Madison Miller

During the 13 seasons of “Alaskan Bush People,” we’ve seen the Brown family do some pretty extreme tasks out in the Alaskan bush or in Washington state.

It’s what comes with the territory of wanting to live out in the wild woods of Alaska in the first place. From fending off bears to hunting for food, the “Alaskan Bush People” are seasoned at this point.

Gabe Brown is a Catsitter on ‘Alaskan Bush People’

In the upcoming episode of the show airing on Sunday, October 10 at 8 p.m. ET on Discovery, Gabe Brown has a task handed to him he’s not quite the expert in. He is asked to watch over his sister Snowbird Brown’s cats while she goes to Alaska.

It’s no small task, however. Gabe Brown isn’t looking after one or two cats, instead, he’ll be responsible for a trailer full of his sister’s prized and beloved animals.

“One of the big concerns with Bird going to Alaska is all the cats that she has here,” Gabe Brown said in a new sneak peek video, according to Popculture.com. While he’s talking to the camera the reality star is also trying to refill the plethora of cat water and food bowls surrounding him.

When it comes to being surrounded, Gabe’s biggest obstacle is going to be cleaning up the poop. With a massive amount of cats come a massive amount of cat poop. He jokingly said, “I don’t know which is worse – the smell of the poop or the smell of whatever she has covering up the smell of the poop.”

The Wolf Pack

Although it’s no small task, Gabe is more than willing to take on the job.

“She’s entrusted that to me, but they’re a lot,” he admits. Unless he wants a very angry Snowbird, Gabe has to make sure he’s keeping a close watch. Odds are, Gabe isn’t going to want to break the news that he’s let several cats pass away.

“The cats in here are really special. They’re Bird’s pride and joy – they’re practically her babies – so I’m just a little nervous, you know, a little concerned with just taking care of them. I don’t want something to happen when she’s gone and when she comes back I’m like, ‘Well we lost six,'” Brown said.

Brothers and sisters are always willing to help each other out, especially in the Brown family. However, Gabe did say that his sister “owes” him for this act of kindness.

That is if he keeps all the cats alive and enclosed. One cat crawls under the trailer and Gabe will have to make sure it gets back securely.

This upcoming episode may be emotional for fans of “Alaskan Bush People” too. The Browns are making a return to Browntown in Alaska, which was always their home at their very core. The family is also continuing on with the show after the death of the family patriarch, Billy Brown.
