Ireland Baldwin, daughter of “30 Rock” star Alec Baldwin, is urging her followers to be aware of their surroundings after being the victim of an attack. She took to Instagram on Saturday to detail the traumatic experience.
Baldwin, 24, uploaded two photos on social media showing a large bruise under her eye. She explains that a woman under the influence of drugs attacked and robbed her.
“Yesterday in the late afternoon, I was attacked by a woman who was high out of her mind on drugs and desperate for cash,” she captioned the post. “She decked me in my face in a parking lot and took my belongings and jumped in a getaway car while her husband took off. All was sorted with the police and she was arrested. Luckily I had witnesses and got assisted really quickly.”
According to Baldwin, law enforcement told her many similar attacks have happened in recent months. “The cops told me this is happening frequently because people are desperate for money right now due to Coronavirus and people being out of work,” she writes. “There is a lot of theft and muggings going down.”
In conclusion, Baldwin warned her followers to stay aware. “Posting this to remind everyone to be really careful and watch your surroundings,” she writes. “These are really difficult times and we need to look out for one another.”
After posting on social media, thousands of Ireland’s followers took to the comments to share their reaction. “Sending you love and a speedy recovery,” one user writes. “Thank you for sharing.” Another user writes, “So glad you are safe, I am so sorry you went through this. Sending you so much love.”
While Ireland Baldwin didn’t confirm the location of the attack, she currently resides in Los Angeles.
