Good news, “Jack Ryan” fans. The John Krasinski-led action series just got renewed for a fourth season with Amazon Prime, even ahead of the Season 3 debut.

Amazon started adapting Tom Clancy’s iconic political thriller series in 2018, tapping Krasinski for the titular character and Wendell Pierce as a key supporting character. Season 2 of the show debuted almost two years ago on Oct. 31, 2019. And though production wrapped on the new Season 3, Amazon hasn’t realized a premiere date yet.

Per The Daily Mail, we might not see Season 3 of “Jack Ryan” until 2022. But the network already wants another season, renewing it way ahead of time so that production can start on the new season soon. The show does take place all over the world, after all, with high budget sets and effects that take both time and money.

When we left off with Jack Ryan in Season 2, he’d just uncovered a huge, international faction of rogues. Now, after being wrongfully implicated in a crime he didn’t commit, Jack’s on the run from the CIA as a fugitive. The faction’s after him too, causing him to hopscotch all across Europe. Season 2 took place primarily in South America.

While we’re not sure what else to expect from the upcoming Season 3, we do know that actor Michael Peña will join the Season 4 cast. Amazon is keeping quiet on the particulars of his role. But it’ll be interesting to see how the traditionally comedic actor fits into the tough and serious political thriller.

You might know Peña from Marvel’s “Ant-Man,” “Narcos: Mexico,” “Fantasy Island,” “Crash,” and “The Martian.”

What’s John Krasinski Been Up to While Not Working on ‘Jack Ryan’?

Recently, “Jack Ryan” actor John Krasinski has dedicated his time to “A Quiet Place Part II”. Krasinski starred in and directed both the first film and its sequel, alongside his wife, Emily Blunt.

Both films were wildly successful in the last few years. Krasinski made his film directorial debut with “A Quiet Place,” and he absolutely killed it. The horror films are one of the few big projects he’s completed since leaving “The Office,” but he has more projects on the way.

This past year, the “Jack Ryan” actor lent his voice to “Free Guy,” a Ryan Reynolds film. He also started working on a 2022 project called “DC League of Super-Pets” alongside Dwayne Johnson and Keanu Reeves.

The film will follow the classic DC superheroes’ furry friends as they try to save the day. Krasinski, Johnson, and Reeves will also voice different roles. We’ll also hear from Kevin Hart, Kate McKinnon, Jameela Jamil, and Diego Luna. The film should hit theaters on May 20, 2022, if there are no production delays.
