‘American Pickers’: Frank Fritz Opens Up About His Regrets of Not Being on the Show

Following the news that Frank Fritz will not be returning to the hit reality series American Pickers, the show’s co-host is opening up about his regrets about not longer being in front of the cameras.

“I’d still like to get back to my job,” Frank Fritz explains in a new interview with The Sun. He states that he misses his friends as well as the people and being on the road and meeting “different” characters. He then reveals that he entered treatment for alcohol abuse at The Abey Center in Iowa for nearly 80 days.

Frank Fritz admits he didn’t like drinking anymore and that his mother died from alcohol-related illness five years ago. His family has a history of alcoholism. “[The center] gave me a lot of information and we were booked up for 13 or 14 hours a day. There was no sitting around watching TV or eating food. They really give you a lot of one-on-one time.”

In regards to his health post-treatment, Frank says that he’s feeling really good and that life is good. “I’d like to get back into the swing of things. I wish I had done it five years ago. I would have been a different person,” he adds.

Mike Wolfe Speaks Out About Frank Fritz’s Departure From ‘American Pickers’

Last week, American Pickers host Mike Wolfe took to his Instagram to announce that Frank Fritz wouldn’t be returning to the show. “I have known Frank for as long as I can remember. He’s been like a brother to me,” Wolfe declares. He also states that the journey he, Frank, and Dani started in 2009 has come with its highs and lows as well as blessings and challenges.

“The support that you all have given us has been a constant reminder of what the show’s message has always been; thru these places, people, and things we all have a common thread,” Mike writes. He then says he will miss Frank Fritz and prays for the very best and all good things for him on the next part of his journey.

Frank Fritz previously revealed that he and Mike had a fallout. Fritz admits he hasn’t spoken to his American Pickers co-host in two years. “He knew my back was messed up, but he didn’t call me and ask how I was doing. That’s just how it.”

Frank Fritz then states that the show is tilted towards Mike 1,000 percent and he can’t bend that far down to show just how much. “That’s fine. It’s like you’ve got Aerosmith and there’s Steven Tyler and he’s the front man. I found my spot. I’m second and he’s number one on the show. That’s no problem with me. Maybe he does have a problem.”
