We know our favorite “American Pickers” star, Mike Wolfe, is a pro at collecting rare and unique furniture pieces, automobiles, sparkly bike helmets and so much more. Although, if you weren’t already aware, he’s also an established interior designer. In a recent Instagram post, the star captured his vacation rental house in Tennessee. From the picture, we got a front-row seat to Wolfe’s latest loft kitchen renovations.

It’s literally every Pinterest dream designer’s ideal kitchen. With a stainless steel double-door refrigerator, modern leather bar stools, and a beautifully rustic “City Cafe” sign, Mike Wolfe has constructed the perfect morning coffee hangout.

The “American Pickers” star strategically kept a natural color palette that contrasts the stark black island and cabinets. From the vertical wooden floorboards to the purposefully revealed brick pattern of the wall, right down to the brown leather bar stools, we get a feeling of warmth and comfort.

Mike Wolfe’s overall design encompasses a comfortably modern take on his loft kitchen as a whole. Nevertheless, we can still find traces of the iconic “American Picker” in his decorative choices. His love for bicycles stands out in the left top corner of the photo. There, the room features a simply crafted bike suspended from the ceiling. Additionally, the walls boast a mismatched pair of portraits. Both of which share in the black and brown color palette apparent throughout the rest of the kitchen.

Mike Wolfe Excels as a ‘Jack of All Trades’

For committed “American Pickers,” you may already be aware of Mike Wolfe’s broad collection of talents and passions. Obviously, he’s an acclaimed collector and picker and, if you didn’t know before, a talented interior designer. That’s not to mention businessman and entrepreneur as a whole.

However, in an interview with The Tennessean, Mike Wolfe further shared his experiences as an Iowa firefighter and city councilman.

While Mike Wolfe currently spends a lot of time in Tennessee, he originally hails from Le Claire, Iowa, his hometown near and dear to his heart. His followers have seen Wolfe contribute his efforts to new dog parks back home, a noble effort no doubt.

Regardless, before becoming an “American Pickers” star, Mike Wolfe served as a firefighter in his hometown, yet another way the collecting icon gives back to the community. In that pursuit, Wolfe then became a city councilman.

During his interview, Wolfe revealed the initiative began when his fire department required funding for a new ladder truck. Rather than navigating city officials and paperwork, the “American Pickers” star took things upon himself to secure said truck.

After attending his first city council meeting, Wolfe ran for city councilman and saw an impressive 400 votes thanks to the help of his fellow firefighters. Of the experience and the position, he said, “People there were like family to me…All of a sudden, you feel like you’re part of something.”
