Mike Wolfe has run into different situations over the years on “American Pickers.” One of those happened to be a time where he faced gunpoint.

Wolfe talked about how it all went down in a 2011 interview with the Southeastern Antiquing and Collecting Magazine.

“One time, a guy opened the door and stuck a pistol in my face,” Wolfe said. “All I could think of to say was, ‘Hey is that [pistol] for sale?’ I didn’t buy anything there. I haven’t had too many of those experiences. {And] I can probably count on my hand how many times I have been run off.”

Since that time, Wolfe hasn’t encountered any other gunpoint situations. But he’s definitely going to be on the lookout for those types of issues.

‘American Pickers’ Has Changed Since Wolfe Did Interview

The show itself has changed some since 2011, specifically around the loss of co-host Frank Fritz. There will not be a new episode of “American Pickers” on Monday, Aug. 2. Regular viewers will be disappointed by that not happening.

But they can partake in a History Channel marathon of old “American Pickers” episodes. It will let fans recall those old days when Friz and Wolfe got along together. Fritz left near the end of the last season. He will not return to the show. Fans will be glad to tune in and see him alongside Wolfe.

The impromptu “American Pickers” marathon started early on Monday morning. Most of today’s episodes will be from previous seasons. But those who tune in at the 9 p.m. Eastern timeslot will see an episode from its current season, according to History‘s TV schedule. The “American Pickers” marathon will end at 3 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday.

Show’s Fans Threaten Boycott After Seeing Frank Fritz Ousted

“American Pickers” fans are some of the most loyal to their TV show. But a lot of them are not happy with seeing Fritz get the heave-ho from it.

Show fans are threatening to boycott the History Channel show. When the network recently shared a teaser about an upcoming episode on social media, fans were not silent with their anger.

“It’s not worth watching without Frank. Last few weeks I was hoping it would be the episode that he returns,” a user tweeted. Another added, “Now we know, he’s not returning so I’m not watching anymore.”

“Sucks how you have binned Frank, thought you guys were like brothers. Boycotting this show,” a former fan wrote.

Although some are boycotting it, the new episode has done really well in terms of ratings. New episodes of the show have been raking in roughly 1.3 million viewers. Fritz’s final appearance was in Season 21. The episode aired in March 2020 and was titled “Burlesque Queen.”
