“America’s Got Talent” still has a decent portion of America’s attention.
The popular talent competition has been around for a total of 16 seasons. In the process, viewers witness some really amazing, unique, and talented performers. This could be anything from singing to dancing to comedians to magicians to elaborate stunt performers.
According to TV Line, “America’s Got Talent” had 6.6 million viewers and a rating of 0.8. The show is dipping from week to week, however, it still is tied for the overall highest rating in its demographic for Tuesday nights. It also dominates the night in its overall number of viewers.
“America’s Got Talent” is tied with “Bachelor in Paradise” for the nightly demo rating win. This popular ABC show has 2.7 million viewers and a 0.8 rating.
The show is in its quarterfinals right now, which may be helping the show be the most-watched and highest-rated program of the night.
Storm Large on ‘America’s Got Talent’
One of the highlights last night was the performance from Storm Large.
She was the fan-voted Wild Card bid who made it into the quarterfinals. The rock singer also happens to be one of Simon Cowell’s favorite performers. It was originally her cover of “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” that got her that Wild Card bid.
Last night she came onto the stage with her signature pink hair and a floor-length red dress to cover the iconic 1985 A-Ha song, “Take on Me.” It wasn’t as fast-paced and pop-sounding in Storm Large’s performance, however. She performed a piano lounge cover of the song, turning it into a dreamy-sounding ballad.
The judges had some mixed emotions, however. Cowell said “there was a rawness about you on the first audition which somehow has gotten lost. I don’t know what happened — you know, even your styling. Everything was just too soft tonight, in my opinion.”
You may remember Storm from NBC’s “Rock Star: Supernova” show in 2006. Cowell called her to invite her onto “America’s Got Talent” this year, according to Billboard.
Other Performances on the Show
There was plenty of excitement on full display Tuesday. Terry Crews gave the Golden Buzzer to the World Taekwondo Demonstration Team. The group creates a fighting ballad out of a lot of chaos.
Also a huge standout during the quarterfinals last night was Klek Entos. He is a horror magician that brought Terry Crews and Sofia Vergara on stage for a creepy hotel fire scene. Simon was unimpressed as soon as the performance began and buzzed him.
Meanwhile, Chapkidz gets a standing ovation from the judges. Simon Cowell said they were the best act of the night “by a mile” and that “this stage can make you or break you. Tonight it made you.”
Rialcris also wowed the judges with a stellar acrobatic stunt.
