Arnold Schwarzenegger To Make Scripted TV Debut in New Netflix Series

Possibly the most famous character Arnold Schwarzenegger ever played once vowed, “I’ll be back.”

That character, of course, was a “Terminator” from the popular and iconic film franchise of the same name. This film series was just one of the many Hollywood projects that lifted the Austrian-born star to fame.

Well, fans should be happy to know that the famous action star and former governor of California will definitely be back soon. He’s doing so with a new scripted series that will air on the streaming platform Netflix.

According to, the 73-year-old movie star will appear in a television series for the first time. The series does not have a title as of yet. The series will include eight episodes. Each of the episodes will be one hour long. The new show has been described as a “spy series.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger is also serving as an executive producer on the new series. The cast of the upcoming unnamed project will also include Monica Barbaro. She is known for her role in “UnREAL.”

Audiences will also have the opportunity to watch the actress in the upcoming Tom Cruise film “Top Gun: Maverick.”

Plot of Upcoming Arnold Schwarzenegger Show Involves the CIA

Based on information released by Netflix, the father-daughter duo of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Barbaro find out that each of them as been working for the CIA. Their jobs with the famous United States government organization is that of operatives.

The actor famous for his roles in “The Terminator” movie franchise, “Kindergarten Cop,” “True Lies,” “Twins,” and more said he is happy to be part of this new Netflix project.

“Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years, and now they’re finally going to get it because of our great partners at Skydance and Netflix,” Arnold Schwarzenegger said. “I am beyond pumped to start work on the show with Nick and Monica and the whole team.”

According to information released by Netflix about the show, it is the relationship between father and daughter that drives some of the drama in the show.

“They realize their entire relationship has been a lie and they truly don’t know one another at all. Forced to team up as partners, our series tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, fantastic action and humor,” a recently released synopsis of the plot reported.

Also involved in the production of this Arnold Schwarzenegger series is Nick Santora. Santora most recently worked with star Kiefer Sutherland on “The Fugitive” series for Quibi.
