Nicole Kidman, who’s set to play Lucille Ball in the upcoming Aaron Sorkin film, Being the Ricardos, has been honored in The Hollywood Reporter’s 2021 Women in Entertainment Power 100 List.

The publication spoke of her work on The Undoing, which was the most-watched HBO show of 2020. It also speaks of her upcoming works, Nine Perfect Strangers and Being the Ricardos.

Kidman has been pictured on the set of Being the Ricardos in a bright red wig. She’s also posted pictures of herself running when she’s not on set. While the rule is certainly a bunch of pressure, Kidman is excited to tackle it head-on. She even has the support of Lucille Ball’s daughter, Lucie.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Power 100 features everyone from actresses to directors to executives. You can check out the list for yourself here.

Nicole Kidman to Star Alongside Javier Bardem and A Great Supporting Cast in ‘Being The Ricardos’

Being the Ricardos centers around Lucille Ball and her husband, Desi Arnaz. The film, which is currently in production, follows a week in the lives of the two characters while working on their revolutionary sitcom, I Love Lucy. It won’t focus specifically on I Love Lucy, however. The film takes an intimate look at what life was like for the two behind the scenes.

The couple’s daughter, Lucie, is working closely with production on Being the Ricardos to help with authenticity. In spite of the fact that some people wish the cast was different, Lucie loves whose playing her parents.

“We felt exploring [Ball and Arnaz’s] relationship could be an enlightening challenge. We asked Amazon for the best and we got it with every hire,” she said.

Javier Bardem, who’s starred in films such as No Country for Old Men and Loving Pablo, will play Arnaz in Being the Ricardos. Few photos have come out of Bardem playing Arnaz. Last week, we got a small sneak peek.

Many members of the supporting cast will likely have some show-stealing moments. J.K Simmons, for instance, will play William Frawley. Frawley played landlord Fred Mertz on the hit series. In spite of concerns from the Network about Frawley’s drinking and unpredictable nature, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz cast him on the show. Arnaz, Ball, and Frawley became close friends.

J.K Simmons’s role on Being the Ricardos will definitely be one to watch. He has an incredibly recognizable face for TV watchers out there. His incredibly extensive record covers everything from roles on Juno to Brooklyn Nine-Nine, to Defending Jacob.

Other members of the cast include Alia Shawkat, Jake Lacy, Nina Arianda, and Tony Hale. There’s no release date yet for the highly anticipated film, but hopefully, more information on Being the Ricardos will come out once they’re done filming.
