Family, friends, and fans alike are paying tribute to Dog The Bounty Hunter star, Beth Chapman, on the first anniversary of her death (June 26).
Prior to the anniversary, Duane “Dog” Chapman and daughter, Cecily, announced that they will be a remembrance event to honor her life. Together with their community, the ceremony took place at Waimanalo Beach in Hawaii on Friday where friends and family celebrated her life and shared their personal memories of Beth.
Cecily shared photos from a hike she took earlier in the day. In addition to the hike, she left a picture of Duane and Beth on the top of a hill along with a bouquet of roses. She also donned a hoodie that had Beth’s name, birth date, and death date on it.
For those who couldn’t make it to the celebration of life event, fans similarly spent the day in nature to honor Beth. Fans used the hashtag #ForTheLoveofBeth to share photos of their time along with their favorite photos of their favorite bail bondswoman. Above all, Beth was honored and remembered by many admirers.
Lyssa’s Tribute to Her Stepmother
Beth’s stepdaughter, Lyssa Chapman, shared an especially heart-wrenching video tribute to her late stepmother. The slideshow featured photos of Beth with her family through the years.
In the comments section, fans shared their sympathy and prayers to the Chapman family.
Bonnie Jo’s Letter to Her Mother
Beth’s 21-year-old daughter, Bonnie Jo Chapman, posted a lengthy letter on Twitter to honor her mother’s memory.
“For 365 days we have lived without your smile, laugh, and voice,” she began. “For 365 days my heart had yearned to hold you, or for you to hold me. I haven’t been the same, none of us have. I’ve tried to [sic] hard to be strong for everyone around me, but occasionally I lose it,” she admitted.
“I hug the nearest person and sob uncontrollably,” Bonnie continued. “I sob for my momma, for the rock I’ve had throughout my whole life.” Bonnie confessed that she tried to imagine what life would be like if her mother was still alive.
Beth’s Battle With Cancer
Initially, Beth was diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer in September 2017. The cancer went into remission before it returned in November of 2018 which progressed into stage 4. In January, the matriarch was subsequently put on chemotherapy. Following her first round of treatment, she decided to stop chemotherapy due to the side effects. Prior to her passing, she was hospitalized and put into a medically induced coma. Beth tragically passed away on June 26, 2019 in Hawaii at 51-years-old.
