Ever since hitting our television screens a few years ago, “Better Call Saul” has built up an impressive fan base.

“Better Call Saul” is a spinoff series of “Breaking Bad,” which ended its five-season run back in 2013. The show follows the musings of crooked lawyer Jimmy McGill, also known as “Saul Goodman” to “Breaking Bad” fans. Superstar actor Bob Odenkirk plays the titular character, Saul Goodman, in the prequel series. Odenkirk is terrific in “Better Call Saul” which follows the simple and humble McGill turn into the arrogant and always-plotting Goodman. Another reason for the show’s great success is the work of actor Michael McKean, who plays Chuck McGill. The older brother to Jimmy, Chuck McGill is a highly successful attorney also with disdain for his brother’s tendency to bend the rules. The chemistry between Odenkirk and McKean is also tremendous — almost as if they were actually brothers.

On Sunday, Bob Odenkirk took to social media to wish his “Better Call Saul” co-star a very happy birthday. McKean turned 74-years-old over the weekend. In the social media post, Odenkirk includes a photo of the “Better Call Saul” cast. It is also easy to see in the photo that the show’s cast genuinely likes being around each other.

“This was a happy birthday to Michael McKean,” Odenkirk says in the Twitter post. “I was retweeting, piling on, and I don’t know how Twitter works.”

In the photo are (left to right) Michael McKean, Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehermantraut), Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler) and Patrick Fabian (Howard Hamlin). The crew appears to be working on the set of “Breaking Bad” and having a laugh away from the action.

‘Better Call Saul’ Will Return in 2022 for Sixth Season

With its history rooted in “Breaking Bad,” the show has been tremendously popular through five seasons. The sixth season is expected to arrive in early 2022 and will contain 13 episodes to conclude the series.

Numerous actors reprise their “Breaking Bad” roles for “Better Call Saul” and more could be on the way. The show centers around Bob Odenkirk’s character and Jonathan Banks‘s character, Mike Ehermantraut. The show dives into the backgrounds of both of the heavily popular “Breaking Bad” characters. It shows how Mike Ehermantraut comes to work with secret drug kingpin, Gustavo Fring, played by Giancarlo Esposito.

“Breaking Bad’s” two most prominent characters, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, have yet to appear on “Better Call Saul” but could in season six. White is played by Bryan Cranston and Pinkman is played by Aaron Paul.

Both shows really strive in the character development department and the show is well written and acted by all involved. Fans of “Better Call Saul” are anxiously awaiting the sixth season and all the surprises that will undoubtedly come with it.
