Betty White’s Chicken Wings Recipe is the Perfect Way to Kick Off Memorial Day Weekend

Betty White may be best known for her comedic work on The Golden Girls and other hit movies and shows, but she also has a mouth-watering chicken wing recipe. The TV legend has used the recipe since the 60s, and those that follow it swear by it.

Any recipe by someone like Betty White is at least worth a try, but as the weather heats up and Memorial Day Weekend is right around the corner, now is a perfect time. According to, the recipe originally started out as a chicken breast recipe before morphing into the delicious chicken recipe people know and love today.

These chicken wings aren’t the only type of junk food The Golden Girls star enjoys. In fact, Betty White loves all kinds of junk food and sweets. The 99-year-old is known for eating a ton of candy on set.

One of her Golden Girls co-stars, Wendie Malick said that Betty White “eats red licorice, like, ridiculously a lot. She seems to exist on hot dogs and French fries.”

White’s not just infamous for her love of junk food amongst her fellow cast members, she’s been in commercials for Junk Food companies. Most infamously, Betty White starred in a Superbowl commercial for snickers back in 2010.

Before the star turned 96, she joked to Parade Magazine that her two favorite things were vodka and hot dogs. The magazine described the beloved actress as a “spunky optimist” and an “animal lover.”

She did clarify, however, that she was only joking. Her real key to a long and healthy life? Staying positive. “Accentuate the positive, not the negative. It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about rather than say, ‘Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look,” she said.

With great recipes and even better advice, it’s hard not to love Betty White.
