Betty White is a walking icon, rocking the longest television career of any entertainer, which spans more than 80 years!

The 99-year-old has been featured in over 150 movies and TV shows. Who does she attribute her success to? Easy, she said it’s all luck.

“Sure blind luck, for one thing, but I sure can’t believe… they will catch onto me one of these days, they haven’t yet, and I’m not going to help them. But I hear people say, ‘Oh, but there are no rules for women anymore, you know, once they pass a given age, nobody wants you.’

Betty White says this is not the case. You have to be proactive with your job search. White says it helped with personal and professional growth.

“Yes, they do, but you’ve got to take what comes by, you can’t say, ‘Well, I’m waiting. I know I don’t want to play mothers. No, I don’t want to do this.’ You take the role that comes by, and sometimes it isn’t the best. If it’s one you really hate, then avoid it. But if it’s not one you are thrilled with or you think it’s too small a role or you think for one reason or another it’s not your cup of tea, do it anyway, because it’s a growth situation.”

Betty White Is Constantly Learning

Betty White notes that even terrible jobs are a good learning experience.

“You may never want to do that again, but at least you tried it, and it kept you alive in the minds of not only the audience but the people who are doing the casting. But that’s why then, all of the sudden, you get blessed by being invited into a show on a recurring basis.”

The veteran actress also advises everyone, saying that everything is a learning experience. With everything you do, you are constantly learning and growing.

Wise words from the great Betty White.

Was it Worth It?

However, after all these years, was it worth it? Was being a household name and continuously in the spotlight worth all the trouble. Betty White didn’t miss a beat with her answer.

“Was it worth it? I mean the happiest person. I’m the happiest now than I’ve ever been, and that’s hard to say with all the wonderful stuff that’s happened in my life. Yes, it was worth it. Oh my goodness, yes, and I don’t know how I lucked in, but boy, I’m tasting every minute.”

Well, Betty White is an icon for all people to look up to with a happy and successful life and career.
