Changers are coming on “Big Sky” entering its second season as part of ABC’s primetime lineup. This change, though, involves its set.

The second-season episodes will be filmed in Rio Rancho, N.M., starting this August through April 2022. That news comes from an article in The Hollywood Reporter.

“The decision of ‘Big Sky’ to film season 2 in New Mexico shows we have created a resilient and thriving film industry,” said New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter. “This production will support jobs for thousands of New Mexicans well into 2022 and boost spending to the many local businesses that provide goods and services to this industry.”

‘Big Sky’ Will Take Filming From British Columbia To New Mexico

According to the New Mexico Film Office, “Big Sky” will be moving its filming from Vancouver, British Columbia, to the American Southwest. This also will allow 500 jobs to be created, plus there are many in New Mexico who can be used as extras.

Showrunner Elwood Reed said in a statement, “For years I’ve had friends rave to me about their experience filming in New Mexico. I’m excited to bring the second season of ‘Big Sky’ to the Land of Enchantment.

“The excellent crews, the facilities, and natural beauty of New Mexico has so far exceeded expectations,” Reed said. “We are looking forward to a great year!”

“Big Sky” ended up being ABC’s fourth best-ranked drama for last season. There were moments where the show saw its ratings dip. But the David E. Kelley-created show did finish pretty strong and the network gave it a second season.

Show Happened To Drop Rather Interesting Tease Ahead Of Season 2

Now that a new location has been selected for filming, what about Season 2 itself? Well, the “Big Sky” Twitter account dropped a small hint.

It’s a picture of a child in front of the home of Ronald Pergman, the show’s chief creep. The caption reads “There’s something in the air.”

Fans responded to that tweet quickly. “This show, OMG. Sucked me right in. I am eagerly looking forward to the next season,” one person wrote.

“That looks like the little boy from part 1 season 1,” wrote another Twitter follower. It might be yet any child near the Pergman residence will definitely give the show’s fans some weird vibes.

The ABC drama has been doing a solid job in raising people’s interest ahead of the second season. Recently, another tweet read “something big is coming” and it was with a photo of Mark Lindor. The last time “Big Sky” fans saw Lindor, well, he was dead. Apparently, that’s not the case, though. What happened? Tune in and see when the show returns to ABC in September.
