While Big Sky star Jesse James Keitel has taken an exit out of the show, there might be more on the way. She made a point to mention “unfinished business.” Keitel has been on the show for over two years and her exit is one fans and the actress are taking in.
On Instagram, she shared her thoughts on playing Jerrie and also playing a trans, non-binary character as a non-binary actress. This was a role that Keitel took very personally and it showed in her performance on screen. Check out the Instagram post below.
The post caption read, “Over the last two years, Jerrie gave me the opportunity to have important, groundbreaking conversations advocating for trans and non-binary people. She also brought me endless sources of inspiration and memories I’ll cherish for a lifetime. Every moment of my work on this show has been my love letter to the trans community. From aspiring musician and sex-trafficking survivor to an official PI at Dewell & Hoyt, Jerrie’s journey has been gargantuan. But fret now – I think Jerrie still has some unfinished business, thank you @davidkellyproductions @abcnetwork @bigskybc @disneytvstudios @20thcenturystudios for the wild ride. Big love to my Big Sky fam – have a safe trip, Jerrie!”
It is clear that this is a special role for Keitel. The passion she put into the work and the way that they made the character come to life is proof enough. Add this wonderful post on top of that, and it emphasizes that point. There were so many great photos included in the post. Behind-the-scenes stuff, from the set, and more.
The Big Sky star won’t be gone forever.
Jesse James Keitel Opens up About ‘Big Sky’ Exit
Jerrie started out as one of the first kidnapping victims from the first season of Big Sky. Since then the growth of the character has been a big part of the show. After learning that her mother has cancer in the last episode, Jerrie has to go be with her family.
Keitel has some thoughts about the exit. “When her dad shows up and then takes her by surprise, it really throws her. A lot of issues from her past come to the surface and it’s something she has to grapple with right there in the moment. …I don’t know if she was really emotionally ready to do that, but thankfully she got the opportunity to.”
Her exit from Big Sky isn’t going to last forever. At least if her Instagram post is to be believed. There is going to be unfinished business for sure. With how motivated Jerrie is, there is no doubt that she will return to the agency eventually. When that happens, fans are going to be so excited.
