‘Big Sky’ Teases ‘Something Big is Coming’ With New Snap

by Anna Dunn

Big Sky is coming back, and the show is already teasing its fans. The show, which follows a pair of private detectives in Montana, was renewed by ABC earlier this year for its second season. Recently, the show dropped a photo of a character who many fans thought was dead.

In the season 1 finale, Mark Lindor was left for dead, but as the photo the Big Sky Twitter posted shows, he’s back in a big way. Lindor is played by Omar Metwally.

The photo comes as news broke that Metwally will join the cast as a series regular. The actor, who’s known for his roles on The Affair, Mr. Robot, and Treadstone, joined the show in the middle of the season to help out main characters Cassie and Jenny.

‘Big Sky’ Season 2 Airs in September

Big Sky ended as ABC’s #4 drama. While it suffered in the ratings sometimes, the network ultimately decided to give the show another chance. Still, fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for a return, because the finale left their favorite characters in a really rough spot.

Season one ended with Jenny, played by Katheryn Winnick, barely clinging to life. The character was shot, and while it’s hard to believe that a show would kill off its main character, they did it before with Ryan Phillipe’s. Showrunner Elwood Reid implied to Entertainment Weekly that they wouldn’t have a problem doing it again.

“It’s pretty bad for [Jenny]. And it’s also pretty bad for Cassie because she’s chasing after some pretty bad guys,” he said. “Both women are in jeopardy. Nobody’s off limits; everybody’s fair game. We’re going to go that way right to the end of the show — ride or die with that ethos.”

But it’s not just bad for the current characters. When asked to tease season 2… Reid got right to the point.

“We’re going to bring somebody on that you’re going to fall in love with, and then, eventually, we’re going to kill them. That’s for sure,” he warned. While it sounds harsh, that’s the nature of this beast. Big Sky is very dark, but it’s also what makes it so gripping. But there are other storylines he’s excited to see through.

“And we’re going to follow those crazy lovers Ronald and Scarlet to see if they can survive what they started. I’m hoping to bring in a whole new storyline that centers around someone from Jerrie’s past,” he said. Ronald and Scarlet are the two big bads still at large at the end of the season, and fans worry about what chaos they’ll cause in season 2.

You can catch the show on Thursday, September 30th at 10 pm. Big Sky will follow Grey’s Anatomy, which should help the show get a needed ratings boost.
