Billy Ray Cyrus Welcomes Grandson Bear Chance Cyrus: ‘Circle of Life Is Once Again Complete’

by John Jamison

Billy Ray Cyrus’s son, Braison, welcomed a son of his own into the world recently. After paying a visit to baby Bear Chance Cyrus, the new grandpa could hardly contain himself.

He took to Twitter, posting a congratulatory message for his son and Stella, his wife.

Billy Ray has come a long way since his “Achy Breaky Heart” days. And one could argue that his music career recently completed its own circle of life. In the early 90s, he rose to fame after “Achy Breaky Heart” spent more than a month in the No. 1 spot on the charts.

In 2019, Billy Ray Cyrus outdid himself when he jumped on the Lil Nas X track “Old Town Road.” The remixed song spent four months in the No. 1 spot and has become the most sold single of all time. He was breaking records 30 years ago, and his recent effort brought everything full circle.

And while he’s certainly proud of music accomplishments, nothing beats the pride one has in their family. Billy Ray Cyrus’s son, a father himself now, knows that better than most. He posted a picture of his newborn Bear on his Instagram recently.

“Bear Chance Cyrus was born June 8th, 2021 at 10:05 PM. He is 9 lbs and 22 inches of pure joy. God poured every bit of his mercy, tenderness, beauty and strength into Bear and @stellamcyrus during her herculean feat of birthing him. I’m so blessed that he and his mom are healthy and couldn’t be more amazed by her strength and bravery. I am beyond grateful to the staff at the hospital and to our friends and family offering us encouragement and support. God is so good. Hallelujah,” Braison captioned the post.

Bill Ray Cyrus is Touring Again

Life seems to be going pretty well for Billy Ray Cyrus and his family as of late. They’re breaking records, welcoming new family members, and most exciting of all, they’re performing music for live audiences again.

It was a long, hard year. But many are excited to see the return of events like the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, where Billy Ray Cyrus performed along with other big names such as Brad Paisley and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

And things are even looking up for Billy Ray Cyrus’s daughter and fellow singer, Miley. She was open about some of the struggles she dealt with in recent years. But in an interview she did with USA Today in December 2020, she said that she was in a much better place than she was previously. She talked about what motivated her journey with sobriety.

“And the thing that I love about it, is waking up 100%, 100% of the time,” she said in the interview.
