November 15 is Steve Irwin Day, and daughter Bindi Irwin has her own tribute up to her late father with a beautiful childhood photo.

We knew him as The Crocodile Hunter. But to Bindi Irwin, he was Dad. While the world still mourns his shock death, none of us know the pain felt by the children he left behind but Bindi and Robert Irwin.

“Your legacy will live on forever. I love you for even longer. November 15, Steve Irwin Day.”

These are the words of Bindi Irwin ahead of 2021’s Steve Irwin Day. Celebrated each year on the day, the holiday is an annual international event honoring the life and legacy of the one and only Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. Ahead of the day, his eldest child and only daughter, Bindi, is also sharing this incredible photo of the two from her childhood:

As Bindi Irwin follower Hali tells her in the Instagram comments, “He would’ve been so proud of how you’ve become and what a good mother you are.”

“I’m sorry you didn’t get to have longer with your dad. He was remarkable,” replies Lehne in kind.

Fellow Wildlife Warrior Maryanne Oliver offers words of comfort, too, with: “Love is never ending. Gosh, he would be so proud of you. Your relentless focus and hard work keeping your dads dream alive is appreciated beyond words by all Wildlife Warriors. Sending you love today.”

Bindi Irwin Continues Her Father’s Wildlife Warriors

As for those Wildlife Warriors, the Australia Zoo organization is a legacy Bindi continues on with her wonderful family. Teri and Steve Irwin would found the organization in 2002. They did so in order to “conserve wildlife and wild places.” But there’s so much more to it.

The Wildlife Warriors operate out of the Irwins’ Australia Zoo. There, their state-of-the-art veterinarian hospitals cater to all of the country’s incredible wildlife. On their founding, the organization’s official website explains that “Steve Irwin had a vision for conservation where people and wildlife could live harmoniously alongside one another. Each and every one of Wildlife Warriors’ conservation projects supports this vision. Through funding, education, research and a whole lot of hard work and dedication, our Wildlife Warriors are fighting to protect wildlife and wild places around the world for generations to come.”

Through their incredible work, The Crocodile Hunter’s brilliant conservation work continues on as strong as ever. And there’s nothing else on this planet that Bindi Irwin should be doing other than exactly what she is. Alongside her brother, Robert, Bindi is ensuring her father’s legacy is thriving every day – and not just Steve Irwin Day.

Happy Steve Irwin Day this November 15, Outsiders.
