Most people remember Bindi Irwin when she young and spirited toddler accompanying her parents, the famous nature enthusiasts, Steve and Terri Irwin, on their wild adventures.
Now a mother herself, the Irwin’s daughter still carries her late father’s presence with her and has shown us as much in her most recent Instagram post.
In her post, she features three photos with three very important men in her life. The first, of course, is one with her father. In the picture, Irwin and her parents are wearing their signature khaki-colored Crocodile Hunter uniforms in a small boat. When the photo was taken, Irwin is just an infant as she sits contentedly in her mother’s lap. Her father extends an umbrella over top of his girls’ heads, as if to shield them from the sun.
In the following photo, Bindi Irwin’s husband, Chandler Powell, smiles down at their infant daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. Like Irwin’s father, Powell shares a love for animals and works at the Australia Zoo.
Meanwhile, the final photo features Irwin, her husband, and her father-in-law, who looks unbelievably similar to his son. In contrast to the typical khaki colors fans are used to seeing the family in, the Powell father has on a blue “Gator Grill” apron and wraps his arm around his daughter-in-law lovingly.
Irwin captioned the photo series, “Appreciation post for the three most incredible fathers in my life. My dad, my husband and my father-in-law.”
She says about Steve Irwin, “My dad taught me the importance of strength when standing up for what I believe in and to have empathy for all living beings.”
“My husband amazes me every day with his kind and steadfast heart, his love for our daughter is infinite. My father-in-law works tirelessly for his family and is always there with a word of encouragement. These extraordinary men inspire me and I love them so very much.”
Bindi Irwin Perpetuates Family Values
Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell welcomed their baby girl, Grace Warrior Irwin, on March 25 this year—the same date as the couple’s wedding anniversary. The day after their new daughter arrived, new mother shared on Instagram that her middle names were a tribute to her late father.
“Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light,” Irwin wrote. “Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior…There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl. She chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed.”
Since growing their family, Irwin and Powell have begun training the newest wildlife advocate. Baby Grace has already met a koala and taken many strolls through the Australia Zoo. She’s even earned her first set of zoo khakis!
“We’re so proud of our Wildlife Warrior princess,” Bindi wrote in the caption of her daughter’s photo. “I know our darling girl is going to grow up caring for Mother Earth and all her animals.”
Considering all of the little one’s adventures, it’s safe to say that Bindi Irwin is truly raising her daughter just as her father would have wanted.
