Blake Lively remembered her late father Ernie Lively in a heart-warming but hilarious tribute. Ernie starred on the “Dukes of Hazzard” in the 1980s. But he’s also the father-in-law of Hollywood A-Lister Ryan Reynolds as well.

And the two once posed for a hilarious but adorable picture. In the photo, Ernie has his son-in-law in a bear hug. The two actors could both barely contain their laughter. Blake Lively is looking back on fonder times with the photo. Losing a parent can be a rough situation, and Lively obviously missed her father for the holiday celebrating dads.

She simply captioned the photo: “My Guys”

Ernie Lively passed away recently on June 9. The actor died from complications related to his heart. He was 74-years-old. But his legacy continues to live on through both his children and the impressive catalog of films he leaves behind.

Over the course of his career, Lively had more than 110 acting credits to his name. But he will most be remembered for appearing on “The Dukes of Hazzard” in the 1980s. In total, Lively appeared in five episodes of the series. But unlike other actors, he always played a different character on the show. Some of the characters include Clyde the Guard, Longstreet B. Davenport, and Dobro Doolan.

Ernie Lively and His Children

Ernie Lively then passed the acting bug onto his children. Both Blake Lively and his daughter Robyn followed in his footsteps, becoming actors in their own rights. For instance, Robyn starred on the hit show “Teen Witch.” Likewise, Blake got her start on “Gossip Girl” before transitioning into films.

Meanwhile, his other children have also appeared in various movies as well. For instance, Jason starred in both “National Lampoon’s European Vacation and “The Possessed” as well. Additionally, Eric Lively starred in “Modern Men” and “A Madea Christmas.” Lori Lively appeared in “ER” and “I Kissed A Vampire.” They all continued their father’s passion for the craft.

And they were helped by him as well. After becoming an actor, Ernie also found a second calling as an acting coach. He mentored his children to take the roles and successes they later found in their careers. He also played a part in crafting the next generation of celebrated actors. For instance, he served as a mentor to Brittany Murphy, Alyson Hannigan, and Ian Bohen.

Lively continued to appear in films and TV shows throughout his career. He appeared alongside his daughter Blake in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” for instance. He also acted alongside Tom Hanks in “Turner & Hooch” as well. Other small roles include “Seinfeld” and “Murder, She Wrote.” But Lively’s biggest legacy is his children.
