“The Voice” stars Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have a soft spot for budding artists. That’s why they’ve given a major boost to the career of a young TikTok musician who’s debuting a new song.
Los Angeles-based musician WRENN is the daughter of the bandleader at “The Voice,” Paul Mirkovich. And Shelton gave her a shout out on Twitter this weekend.
Shelton and Stefani Plug ‘Hailey’
“So the band leader at @NBCTheVoice is a guy named @paulmirk,” Shelton tweeted on Sunday. “He’s really talented blah blah blah… you get it. Anyway his daughter just released a song that is EXPLODING!!! Get in the train y’all! Listen!!
Stefani chimed in with her own words of encouragement. “@paulmirk we r so excited for u guys!” she tweeted. “love this song.”
Meanwhile, WRENN has racked up 1.2 million TikTok followers and 12.7 million likes on TikTok, according to Talent Recap. Her song, “Hailey,” has over five million streams, per Talent Recap.
Already Planning the Remixes
The song tells the tale of a relationship breaking down over a boyfriend cheating with – you guessed it – someone named Hailey. It reflects the young musician’s interest in EDM music and follows her EP “Without Reason.”
WRENN grew up accompanying her father around from tour to tour with various famous artists. She began playing the electric guitar at 9 years old. By the time she was in her teens, she was writing songs and learning how to engineer and master them herself. She studied music in high school and college and then decided to launch a solo career.
And as for the young musician’s reaction to the shout out from two musical celebs?
“BLAKE WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL THIS IS SO NICE,” WRENN responded, including Shelton’s tweet.
She followed that up with a question to her rapidly growing fan base. “Who would you guys wanna see on the Hailey remixes[?]” she asked.
