Singer and song writer Blanco Brown was involved in a head-on collision. The crash happened on Monday (August 31) near his home in Atlanta, Georgia. Brown suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Brown is, of course known, for his 2019 viral hit “The Git Up”. He followed up on that song’s success with current hit “Just The Way.” The musician underwent several hours of surgery.
“The accomplished writer, vocalist and Grammy-nominated producer suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he underwent a 12-hour surgery to address those traumas,” his label BBR Music Group wrote in a statement. “Additional surgeries are expected as he currently rests in the ICU. Blanco, his family and his friends ask for your prayers during this time.”

Brown spent years working behind the scenes with artists including Chris Brown, Pitbull, Fergie and more. He entered the public spotlight with his line-dancing song “The Git Up”. The song found audiences across the world, who loved the catchy lyrics. The song held the No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It also sold the most digitally for the country genre for 13 weeks. The music video earned more than 20 million YouTube view in a month.
In 2019, Billboard named Brown the No. 1 Top New Country Artists for 2019 and one of the outlet’s “7 Country Acts to watch in 2019.” The Grammy-nominee recently collaborated with the country group Parmalee on “Just the Way.”
“It’s been an interesting ride. I take it one breath at a time, one stride at a time. And, you know, just try to continue to spread positive energy and purpose,” Brown told Fox News. “I don’t know what the future holds for me, but I will say that I’ll continue to manifest my purpose and just keep this journey going; making great music with meaning. Since ‘The Git Up’ took off in May and June, it’s been nonstop. I don’t plan on slowing down. I just want to keep on riding. It’s what I do for a living, it’s my calling and I just want to continue to spread the purpose. That’s my living message.”
