“Blue Bloods” star Abigail Hawk and her family went all-in on their Halloween costumes this year. They didn’t just dress up but spent the day in full character too.
The characters in question come from one of the most legendary fantasy franchises of all time, “Lord of the Rings.” Hawk and her family must be huge fans, based on the level of detail and commitment to their costumes.
The “Blue Bloods” star dressed as the wizard Gandalf the Grey. She wore a completely grey outfit, from boots to pants to shirt to cardigan to wizard hat. And of course, the long beard she wore was grey too.
Hawk posted several pics and videos of the “Lord of the Rings” fam to her Instagram page. In one video, she even utters Gandalf’s iconic phrase, “You shall not pass!” in a deep voice. Her husband, Bryan Spies, rocked the Legolas look with a blonde wig and bow and arrow. And both of her sons decided to dress as Gollum/Smeagol, complete with the One Ring.
“Precious! Smeagol, yes, I am!” one of her sons says in another video. The other son says Gollum’s iconic phrase, “My precioussss,'” in a separate video.
The “Blue Bloods” star herself calls the whole family “My preciouses! 🧝♀️🧝♂️🏹💍🧙♂️” in her Instagram caption.
Unfortunately, we don’t get to see a group photo of the whole family together. But Hawk does post a cute pic of the two brothers standing side by side to trick or treat in their matching costumes. And on her Instagram Stories, you can check out “outtakes” from different videos that she posted to her page. Plus an “after hours” Legolas.
‘Blue Bloods’ star Abigail Hawk Says Tom Selleck Rewrote a scene Just For Her
‘Blue Bloods’ star Abigail Hawk may not play a Reagan on the show, but her character is as close as one can get. She plays Detective Abigail Baker, who’s very close to Tom Selleck’s character Frank Reagan.
At one point, Selleck apparently did a kind gesture for Hawk. She was unable to shoot a specific scene because she went into labor during filming and had to deliver her son. Selleck took the tie to rewrite the scene so she wouldn’t have to worry about it and could focus on her new baby.
“Tom Selleck literally rewrote a scene around the delivery of my son, which is a pretty awesome legacy,” Hawk said, according to Looper. She also touched on how the cast and crew were there for her throughout the whole pregnancy.
“We really are a big family,” Hawk said. “[J]ust having other moms understanding how fatigued I was, making sure that the bags underneath my eyes were taken care of, just little things like that…It’s been a wonderful, wonderful time.”
