In addition to spending time with her fellow members of the Reagan family on “Blue Bloods,” character Erin Reagan also spends a lot of time with Anthony Abetemarco.

Playing Erin Reagan, an assistant district attorney in New York City, in the hit CBS cop drama is Bridget Moynahan. Playing Abetemarco, an investigator with the district attorney’s office is Steve Schirripa.

Schirripa did not join the cast of “Blue Bloods” until 2015. The show began its lengthy television run in 2010. When he joined the cast, he immediately fit in with his costars. Moynahan talked about this during a December 2020 interview with PopCulture’s Dan Levine.

“Erin spends so much time with Anthony and you’re, the relationship that you’ve developed Steve Schirripa over the years, what’s it been like to sort of like have this character?” Levine said to Bridget Moynahan. “He’s sort of like your big brother on the show.”

The actress said that she did feel like Anthony was a “big brother” to Erin. And, in some ways, he’s easier for her to deal with than her brothers Danny Reagan (played by Donnie Wahlberg) and Jamie Reagan (played by Wills Estes).

“Yeah, one that doesn’t needle me or, you know, causes problems, basically,” Moynahan said.

She then went on to praise Steve Schirripa for his work in “Blue Bloods.”

“He is, he’s great, you know. I was thrilled that they found me somebody that not only looked the part but really feels like the part,” the Erin Reagan actress said. “And he, um, he’s kind of dropped right into the role.”

Television fans will most likely recognize Steve Schirripa for his role in the iconic television show “The Sopranos.” He played the character of Bobby “Bacala” Baccalieri in the HBO series about a New Jersey mob family.

“Blue Bloods” star Bridget Moynahan acknowledged Schirripa’s previous television work during the December 2020 interview.

“You know, obviously coming from a much different notoriety in his previous work, and he’s great,” she explained. “I mean it’s, we have such an ease with each other that, um, it really doesn’t feel like that we’re having to work, you know.”

‘Blue Bloods’ Actor Steve Schirripa Once Talked About ‘Playing a Good Guy’ on Television

“Blue Bloods” actor Steve Schirripa is also aware that his role in the family cop drama is different than some of his previous roles.

“I play a D.A. investigator. Finally, I play a good guy!” Schirripa told Fox News in 2016.

Unsurprisingly, the actor is happy to part of the hit series.

“I feel very honored. It’s a well-written show, and they wrote me a great role. And I’m enjoying it immensely,” Schirripa also said.
