Even though Blue Bloods star Bridget Moynahan spent many years as a successful model, we don’t see too many selfies from the star. So, when she drops a gorgeous shot of herself on social media, it feels like a treat.

Earlier today, Moynahan shared a photo from a few years back. The black-and-white shot shows that even though she’s traded her modeling chops for acting ones, the camera still loves her. The Blue Bloods star smile easily as she leaned against a brick wall in a snakeskin print top. It was probably just an iPhone pic, but it could just as easily be an ad for women’s fashion.

“Throwing it back to 2016 #tbt,” the former model captioned her photo.

Meanwhile, a crowd of fans filled her comments with compliments and messages of admiration.

Perhaps with the holiday season officially here and the year coming to a close, we caught the Blue Bloods actress in a moment of reflection. Usually, whenever Moynahan posts a photo of herself, she also promotes a worthy cause or one of her friends “doing cool things.” Of course, with all of her hard work and success, she could just as well be indulging in a well-deserved moment of self-appreciation.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Gives New Purpose to Instagram

While most celebrities fill their Instagram profiles with picturesque and polished photos, Moynahan tends to take a different route. When the Blue Bloods star isn’t posting a rare selfie, she’s adding screenshots, articles and goofy pictures that make her smile.

This might not seem revolutionary, but this is a different take to the social media site. Instagram has received criticism for promoting a filtered perspective of world in which we try to portray the perfect life, but Moynahan doesn’t seem very interested in this. Instead of artistic shots in a coffee shop or carefully constructed family portraits, she shows her candid personality as well as what she values most.

Take for instance when she promoted her friend’s photography book. Typically, whenever a celebrity has some published work to show off, they pose pensively with it, and the focus is just as much on them as it is on the book. The Blue Bloods star, on the other hand, simply posts a close-up of the cover. She didn’t even show the shots inside of her own wedding. She simply let the book speak for itself.

“In another segment of friends doing cool things … my friend @johndolanphotog has a new book out! Get your copy now of #theperfectimperfect and see if I made the cut!” the Blue Bloods star shared.
