Blue Bloods Friday is here, folks. There’s nothing left to do but get you up to speed on the first half of Season 12 and tell you all we know about tonight’s episode.
Titled “USA Today,” the seventh installment of Blue Bloods Season 12 finds Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) hitting a dead-end in the case of a liquor store assault. Why? Well, despite their best efforts, they’re having trouble finding witnesses. It’s not that there are none. It’s that the community in which the assault took place has seemingly agreed not to cooperate with the police.
Is it because they have firmly held beliefs about cooperating with police investigations? Maybe it boils down to their fear of testifying against the criminal himself. We should have an answer in a few short hours.
Elsewhere, the dynamic between Bureau Chief Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and her boss, the District Attorney, takes a turn for the worse. There was already plenty of tension between the two. After all, Erin has had her eye on the position for years. But is it realistic to think that New York would even vote for her when her dad is the police commissioner? It seems like there could be a conflict of interest there.
Regardless, Bridget Moynahan’s Blue Bloods character will question her boss’ judgment when she’s given a case that appears to be below her pay grade. What is the DA up to? We’ll have to tune in tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
Now we arrive at Baker (Abigail Hawk). It looks like Tom Selleck’s Commissioner Frank Reagan is bringing a new member onto the team. How the new addition will fit in with Baker, Garrett, and Gormley remains to be seen. But things should get interesting.
Is Erin Reagan Finally Jumping at the District Attorney Opportunity on ‘Blue Bloods’?
If you genuinely can’t wait for tonight’s episode, you Blue Bloods fans will be pleased to know that show’s YouTube account shared a two-minute clip from “USA Today” this week. The best part? It’s smack dab in the middle of the Reagan family dinner.
The conversation finds Erin telling her finally that she’s decided not to run for the District Attorney position. But the Reagans being the Reagans, the family insisted that she tell them why. When she deflected, claiming that it “just wasn’t for her,” the family kept pressing her. She made a valiant effort to end the conversation, saying, “that’s that,” but of course, Tom Selleck’s Frank Reagan wasn’t ready to let it rest.
“Sometimes, an emphatic ‘no’ is the last step you to make before jumping in with two feet,” says the ever-wise Frank.
The moment seemed to have an impact on Erin. Could we see her run for DA this season?
