“Blue Bloods” star Donnie Wahlberg’s fans love him. And Wahlberg loves them right back.

In a new tweet posted Wednesday evening, Wahlberg shared his gratitude for what he calls “my Blockhead family” – a reference to fans of his band, New Kids on the Block, who are known as Blockheads.

“Having trouble finding words of wisdom to post, as I’m feeling this wave of love and gratitude for you being in life — my #Blockhead Family,” Wahlberg tweeted. “So, I guess I’ll just say that I love you and thank you for being in my life. I’m so honored to be in yours.”

Wahlberg Worked Hard to Break into Acting

Despite all the fame that he had already achieved among his legions of Blockhead fans, Wahlberg busted his chops to break into acting. And he said he’s grateful to be on “Blue Bloods” even on the difficult days.

In a 2014 interview with CBS, Wahlberg explained that the hourlong network dramas have a tough schedule compared with many cable shows. He works five days a week, sometimes 16 hours a day, for eight months out of the year.

“It’s brutal hours, but you know, I worked my whole life to be in this position,” Wahlberg told CBS. “And I’m not gonna complain about anything, I’m very grateful for all of the opportunities I have. And I love what I do.”

But that doesn’t mean he’s left his singing career behind. Wahlberg still performs with New Kids, most recently at Fenway Park in Boston. Meanwhile, in the Season 12 premiere, Wahlberg got a chance to show off his pipes when his character, Danny Reagan, went to a karaoke bar with a psychic. He sang the Rolling Stones tune “Start Me Up” – or at least, a few bars of it before the credits began to roll. But “Blue Bloods” audiences got the idea: the man can really sing.

‘Blue Bloods’ Is Back with a New Episode This Friday

Blockheads and “Blue Bloods” fans alike can tune in to CBS this Friday at 10 p.m. ET to catch Wahlberg and his co-stars in action.

This week’s episode features partners Danny Reagan (Wahlberg) and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), who are trying to track down the assailant who attacked a shop owner. But the community buttons up and refuses to cooperate with their investigation, per Monsters & Critics.

Elsewhere in the Reagan family, tensions are building between Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and her boss, Kimberly Crawford (Roslyn Ruff). The boss assigns Erin to an apparently low-level case, raising Erin’s hackles and her suspicions. Also, NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) brings a new staff member on board, much to the dismay of his current team.

Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) and his wife Eddie (Vanessa Ray) will also figure in the episode. It should be another round of Reagan family fun and drama, so catch it while it lasts.
