Last night, music fans were treated to a battle of the Boston boy bands when Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg joined his iconic boy band, New Kids on the Block on stage with another one of our 1980s favorite pop groups, New Edition.

The two bands brought down the house as they hit the stage giving fans an unforgettable mash-up performance of some favorite dance tunes.

During the Sunday evening American Music Awards, fans were treated to an exciting night of music, and fun. Of course, viewers were also treated to plenty of the famous AMA performances.

Among these performances was an amazing New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) and New Edition mash-up that had fans going wild.

Thankfully, Wahlberg shared a little behind-the-scenes look at this thrilling pairing recently on his Instagram page.

“What a weekend!” the Blue Bloods star exclaims on his Instagram page Monday afternoon.

In the post, Donnie Wahlberg shares a pic of himself as he sits smiling with a large group of people. This group includes members of the New Kids on the Block’s fellow boy band and New Edition. Also posing in the Sunday evening post is iconic DJ, D-Nice.

“First person I was with on Friday and last person I was with on Sunday — @dnice!” Wahlberg continues of his star-studded pic.

“So happy to see you Derrick,” the Blue Bloods star writes.

“the CQ love was in the air all weekend at the @amas,” continues Wahlberg in the November 22 Insta post. “Kept bumping into CQ Family!”

Of course, this “CQ Fam” to which Wahlberg keeps referring is the Club Quarantine that D-Nice developed. Club Quarantine features virtual Insgtgram parties. These are events that are designed to bring people together through music and dancing. Even when they are unable to actually be in the same place.

Club Quarantine was originally developed to provide a well-needed emotional uplift when the world was under a variety of stay-at-home mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think you and the CQ fam somehow had a hand in willing this @newedition @nkotb mashup to happen with all those times you mashed us up in CQ!” the Blue Bloods star quips.

During the exciting NKOTB and New Edition American Music Awards mash-up, both iconic boy bands treated the crowd to a variety of their most popular, and classic, hit songs.

The groups alternated between their individual performances as each song blends together seamlessly to create an unforgettable show. Finally, the two iconic groups came together as New Kids on the Block joined New Edition on stage for a memorable performance of “If This Isn’t Love.”
