‘Blue Bloods’ Star Donnie Wahlberg Says He’ll ‘Maybe’ Bring Back This Legendary Outfit for New Kids on the Block Tour

Donnie Wahlberg may be famous for “Blue Bloods” now, but he first made a name for himself as part of the teen boy band New Kids on the Block. And even though its fans are all grown up, the group continues to tour to this day.

In fact, Wahlberg seems to have a lot of fun performing with New Kids, even hopping into some unique outfits to do so. And in a tweet earlier this week, one fan was not letting Wahlberg live one particular outfit down.

“@DonnieWahlberg will #theromper be making an appearance at #NKOTBFenway?” the fan asked, posting a picture of Wahlberg decked out in a full-length denim jumpsuit with an AC/DC patch and signs of some wear and tear.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Replies With ‘Maybe’

The tweet got a handful of replies, and who should jump in among them but Wahlberg himself. The “Blue Bloods” star offered a few words in response that left open the possibility that fans would see him don the outfit once more.

“Not likely – but maybe,” Wahlberg tweeted.

Other fans noticed the reply and chimed in with their two cents, needling the “Blue Bloods” star a bit.

“Say what?!?” one fan tweeted. “It better. #TeamRomper.”

“Romper Room,” another fan added.

New Kids on the Block Are Still Playing Shows

The band’s upcoming show at Fenway Park in Boston will be their first show since 2019’s Mixtape Tour and their only show of 2021. The concert was originally scheduled for Sept. 19 of last year, and then July 16 of this year. It will now take place on Aug. 6.

The band performed at Fenway for the first time in June 0f 2011 during a tour with the Backstreet Boys. They last played Fenway in 2017 with Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul.

The August concert will feature surprise guests, and a limited number of tickets will go out to healthcare workers and first responders as a gesture of thanks for their efforts during the pandemic.

“It’s been a challenging year for so many. We can’t think of a better way to get back to doing what we love most — than being with our fans, and hitting the stage, in the most sacred of venues. It will be an emotional night and we plan to give our fans a celebration unlike anything our city has seen,” the “Blue Bloods” star said in a statement, per WCVB.

As for whether the Fenway show will feature a surprise costume change from Wahlberg, fans will just have to wait and see.
