‘Blue Bloods’ Highlights Strong Partnership Between Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny and Ramirez’s Baez

In many ways at its core, “Blue Bloods” is a show about relationships. The popular CBS drama highlights the relationships of the Reagan family. There are relationships between parents and children. And there are relationships between siblings.

The show also gives viewers insight into the relationship between the men and women who work together in service to the New York City Police Department. A fan favorite of such a relationship is that between Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez).

In a social media post on Thursday, Oct. 7, “Blue Bloods” highlighted the strong relationship between Danny and Maria. “Communication and understanding — that’s what a great partnership is all about. #BlueBloods,” the show posted on its Twitter account.

In addition to this comment, the show also showcased a scene between Danny Reagan and Maria Baez. It opens with Danny walking over to Maria as she sits behind a desk. “You were right,” Danny says as he sits down next to her.

This comment should capture the attention of most “Blue Bloods” fans. If you have seen many episodes of the beloved family crime drama, you will know that admitting that someone other than him is right about a course of action is something Danny Reagan rarely does.

Needless to say, the look on Baez’s face conveys her surprise. And, she makes sure to make note of the rare moment. “I’m sorry,” the shocked Baez then says as she reaches for her mobile phone. “Can you say that again, so I can get it on video.”

Danny Reagan Resists Admitting He Was Wrong in New Clip from ‘Blue Bloods’

Fans of “Blue Bloods” will know that this comment by Baez – although fair – wasn’t something Danny was all that happy to hear.

“OK. Enough,” Danny says as he takes the phone from his NYPD partner and places it on the desk. “I admit it. … I wasn’t right. You were right.”

It’s such a Danny Reagan move to not be willing to admit that he was wrong about something. Baez also refers to him as Fonzie, which is hilarious and should be a nickname for him moving forward. Danny “Fonzie” Reagan does have a nice ring to it.

Anyway, back to the clip. Knowing she is having a moment with her fellow detective that rarely takes place, Baez isn’t about to let Reagan off easily. “About what?” she demands to know. Danny then gives in.

“You were right to be p****d off that I went out as a decoy without backup,” he adds.

Baez then offers her NYPD partner some wise advice. “We’re all struggling with the new way of the world. We can’t do things like we used to. It’s frustrating, I know. But, it doesn’t mean you go it alone,” she says.

Unsurprisingly, Danny chose to put his life on the line to help someone else. This is something he has done time and time again in “Blue Bloods.”

“I know we’ve been over this before. It’s just very difficult to sit on my hands when there’s a 14-year-old in the hospital and we can nail the sons of b*****s who did it because they’ve got everybody running scared,” Danny also explains.
