by Keeli Parkey

The Reagan family dinner scenes on “Blue Bloods” have given fans of the show some of their most memorable moments. Who can forget the time a major secret was revealed? Or when Linda had her first dinner back with the family after she was kidnapped?

If you watch this popular CBS crime drama, you will know that a variety of emotions have been front and center during these dinner scenes during the show’s 11 seasons on the air. There have been happy dinners and celebratory dinners. There have also been dinners filled with sadness and worry.

“Blue Bloods” has also given fans dinner scenes where members of the Reagan family go toe-to-toe in battle. To put it simply, things between the Reagan have gotten pretty intense over the years. Thankfully, sometimes their anger is interrupted.

During the fourth season of “Blue Bloods,” the anger of one dinner scene came to a halt thanks to one of the show’s youngest characters, according to PopCulture. This character is Nicky Reagan-Boyle, who is played by Sami Gayle. As fans are aware, Nicky is the daughter of Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and the granddaughter of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck).

So, what did Nicky do to bring the drama to a halt? She announced that she had gotten a tattoo! That really will get the attention of most families. And, that was the case in this episode of “Blue Bloods.”

Nicky’s tattoo episode of “Blue Bloods” was the eighth episode of the show’s fourth season, according to TV Fanatic. It aired in November 2017. The episode also saw Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) serve on a jury in a murder case. Meanwhile, an old friend of Frank’s brought drama to the commissioner.

Appearing on ‘Blue Bloods’ Has Been Therapeutic for Actress Sami Gayle

Fans of “Blue Bloods” have watched Nicky – and Sami Gayle – grow from a teenager into a young woman. The actress was only 14 years old when she joined the cast of the hit drama.

A few years ago, Gayle described what being on the show meant to her. She shared her thoughts with CBS News during 2015 when the show reached its 100th episode milestone.

“It’s very therapeutic – my character, for me,” Gayle said at the time.

She also said she felt she grew up alongside Nicky thanks to her role.

“I feel like I’ve gone through some of the stuff she’s gone through…so I sort of have another medium to play with as I grow up,” Sami Gayle said. “It’s also been super cool to have things that I didn’t have in real life like a super big Sweet 16, which I didn’t want in real life but I had the most awesome one on set.”
